Chloe Bailey has offered some clarity regarding the viral video of fans throwing objects at her while onstage at the New Balance Nationals’ exclusive concert.
After a clip The Shade Room posted on Instagram Sunday (March 12) began making its rounds online, the Parkwood singer hopped in their comment section and revealed that the situation was actually a misunderstanding. Chloe said that the objects people were throwing on stage were, in fact, wristbands, and she was confident that her fans didn’t do it to “be mean.”

“Wayment! Not people throwing things at #ChloeBailey while she was performing. Sis was definitely dodging ’em though!” The Shade Room wrote in the post’s caption.
Then, Chloe responded, writing, “lol the kids were trying to give me their light up wrist bands. they weren’t throwing things at me to be mean. it was a great show. not everything is negative.”

This isn’t the first time the “Have Mercy” singer found herself embroiled in some online drama. After Chloe announced her collaboration with Chris Brown on a new track titled “How Does It Feel,” which dropped this past February, she faced significant backlash online.
While the collaboration was met with excitement from some fans, many took issue with the Bailey sister’s decision to link up with Chris, given his history of violence against women.
“We’re failing Black women in music if they feel like they have to collaborate with a known abuser in order to chart,” one person tweeted before listing off numerous other male R&B singers she could have worked with, including Bryson Tiller, Lucky Daye, and Brent Faiyaz.”
Most notably, 3LW and Cheetah Girls singer Kiely Williams criticized Brown directly, accusing him of being a woman abuser.

So what does he do?” Williams wrote on Twitter. “He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black Women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay.”
She added: “I am swatting the fucking air rn. Garbage.”
Chris Brown issued a blistering response to his critics, including Williams, where he clowned the singer’s gap tooth while quoting her 2000 3LW song “No More (Baby I’Ma Do Right).”

“I’m kinda getting tired of your broken PROMITHIS of ya broken PROMITHIS PROMITHIS,” Breezy wrote on his Instagram Story, adding: “obviously you are at a point in your life where either you are broke or broken…..the FACT you think you have to speak negatively about me makes you look so lame….YOUR LIFE AND CAREER MUST SUCK RIGHT NOW.”
He continued: “Minding your business WOULD’VE BEEN BEST….but I guess you don’t have a business or a real job that makes u financially stable. I feel more embarrassed for you and your actual maturity.”
