CHIKA has opened up some more about the recent drama she faced with T.I. and Tiny‘s granddaughter on a Delta flight — and according to the Nigerian-American rapper, the experience almost claimed her life.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in a new interview which dropped on Thursday (July 27), CHIKA — whose new album Samson arrives on Friday (July 28) — revealed that part of her struggle with the issue had to do with navigating her mental illness.

“I feel like people used that moment as a reason to dog pile. It was completely blown out of proportion,” she said. “I have a lot of thoughts on that actually. I think that any other person on this fucking planet being frustrated and venting like that would never be taken as “harshly” as everyone else took it.”

She continued: “There’s a lot of moving parts there that people wanted to ignore in order to have a different conversation, so I allowed them to. If I were to have read into it any further, it would’ve killed me, and it almost did. So ultimately, just let that conversation happen and let people think what they want to think because who I am is going to shine through all of that shit anyway.”

Last month, the Alabama-based rapper took to Twitter to moan about a pair of baby twins sat near her on a first-class flight, who allegedly, as babies are known to do, began crying on the flight.

After firing off a series of rage-filled tweets that included telling the children’s mother, “I hope you get a paper cut between each finger tomorrow, you senseless wench,” CHIKA came under fire for her comments — but not only from social media.

As it turned out, the “babies” in question weren’t twins, and apparently weren’t acting up — and one of them was the child of Tiny Harris’ daughter (and T.I.’s stepdaughter) Zonnique Pullins. This led to CHIKA being on the receiving end of a tongue lashing from the Xscape singer.

However, even after facing backlash from Tiny, Zonnique, as well as social media at large, the “SONGS ABOUT YOU” rapper said she wasn’t sorry for the comments and even doubled down on her stance in a series of tweets that included her attacking the kids once again.

Days later, CHIKA took to Twitter to explain how she had fallen in love with someone over the weekend, sharing photos of her and the person’s matching tattoos. One fan commented: “Who cares. Did you apologize to that mom and children?” Which set the rapper off on a rant.

“Why would i do that,” she asked, before elaborating further. “It wouldn’t be sincere. i’m sorry you saw it. i’m not sorry for saying what i said cuz it wasn’t personal. it was venting about a scenario/stranger. idc like that.”

CHIKA then claimed that “shorty” insulted her back (presumably talking about Tiny or the relative of hers who also weighed in on the drama on social media when it originally took place) and so she believes that makes things even.

After saying she wasn’t going to talk about it anymore because “this internet shit ain’t real,” CHIKA continued to go back and forth on the subject with people in her comments, including one Twitter user who called the rapper “a musty heaux” and encouraged her to “get some soap.”

“Imagine commenting on the scent of someone you can’t afford to sit beside,” CHIKA wrote in a retweet, before going on: “btw, like i said on my story: shawty was tryna get her lick back cuz i called her and her children a plethora of names in jest. but bitch, i showered 30 min prior to boarding and my clothes were fresh out the dryer. you saw fat & thought, “lemme attribute a smell to her body.”

She concluded her rant, by signing off: “And that’s why it’s STILL fuck your kids. i complained (rudely) for a real reason. you and your busted ass nanny just chose to be trash & lie on the internet. again, choke.”
