Ched-da Enters Hip Hop Clothing Market

In an ever changing market, new clothing lines are being created daily to fill the demand for something new. Ched-da is the newest clothing to hit the streets that have been inspired by the hip-hop culture. The clothing which was made by a company in New York will showcase oversized denim jeans, shorts, long and short sleeve t-shirts, button-down shirts and jackets (that have suddenly become a trend). The clothing will be available in select Kmart stores (New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C) and will expand nationwide if the target markets are successful.

The president of Ched-da told the Detroit Free Press, “You can be cool, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money. I’m no different than Sean John I’m just $9.99.” Kmart recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The large company has been trying to redefine their brand image to reach more of the urban market. In a market study done by Kmart’s corporate division one-third of Kmart shoppers are minorities (Black and Hispanic).
