Chance The Rapper has checked Ice Spice after she referenced him with some clever wordplay on her “In Ha Mood” track.
Over the weekend, Lil Chano decided to investigate the lyrics for himself and went straight to the source by asking the Bronx rapper if she was dissing him.

“Is this a diss or a shoutout,” the Chicago native asked on his Instagram Story while tagging Ice Spice.
The song found the “Munch (Feelin’ U)” star using Chance The Rapper’s stage name as a way to brag about her rap peers not standing a chance with her romantically.

“He a rapper, but don’t got a chance/ Stuck in my ways so I’m lovin’ my bands,” she rhymed on the Like..? EP cut.
Chance included a poll in his Story to allow fans to help him decide whether the name-drop was a “diss” or a “shoutout.” Eventually, Ice Spice responded and reassured him that the line was anything but a lyrical dart.
“Never,” she responded with a crying emoji in an IG Story of her own, to which Chano breathed a sigh of relief and wrote back: “Just double checking lol.”
“In Ha Mood” received a boost over the weekend and possibly landed on Chance The Rapper’s radar when Ice Spice delivered the visual to the record, which finds her rumbling through NYC with her baddie friends and has racked up over 1.7 million views already.
According to Chart Data, Spice earned her first Billboard 200 placement with her Like..? EP, which debuted at No. 37 on the chart after earning 15,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
While the 23-year-old is still adjusting to her newfound fame, she stopped by Hot 97 last week and told the Ebro in the Morning crew that she’s preparing to continue her momentum with the release of her debut album later this year.
“Most likely this year, since I’m going to have 10 songs, something like that or whatever,” she said of the upcoming project. “[It’s] definitely going to be different vibes in there, for sure. I don’t want to talk too much on it because, you feel me? But got to keep the secret sauce a secret.”
