Cardi B‘s wild story about an LAPD drug search that resulted in her getting stripped naked was to have been a tall tale, law enforcement sources seem to be saying.
Describing the scenario in a deeper-than-usual voice in an Instagram Live stream on Monday (March 25), Cardi switched back to her regular tone at the end as she laughed and thanked her fans for supporting her new single.

Some observers speculated that she may have been joking – and according to TMZ, she probably was.
On Tuesday (March 26), the outlet reported that they’d spoken with multiple sources within the LAPD who said there is no evidence that the situation ever occurred. A rep for the rapper told the outlet they had no comment.

She continued: “They didn’t believe me. It was some white cops and they ain’t know who I was. They was really tough on me and everything. They said somebody gave them a clue. I really feel like it was one of my opps and shit, like they really trying to ruin my life type shit. Y’all don’t even fucking know. I been going through a lot lately.”
In other news, the single Cardi thanked fans for supporting, “Enough (Miami),” arrived earlier this month.
The cut features menacing synths and trap-inspired drums with a minimal beat that gives Cardi plenty of room to showcase her ferocious bars.
