Cardi B fans will seemingly have to wait even longer for her highly-anticipated sophomore album, as she has since declared it will not be arriving this year.
In a since-deleted post to X/Twitter on Tuesday (May 14), Cardi agreed with a fan who said people don’t appreciate the Bronx rapper’s transparency, and that she should fall back from social media for the time being.
“Exactly and I tell myself this all the time..and I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the ass…” Cardi replied. “anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year.. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”
There may be some hope that she will change her mind, however, as just shortly after, Cardi sent a tweet celebrating having four songs hit the billion mark on Spotify and added, “can’t wait for you to see and hear what’s next!”

Cardi B previously assured fans that a new album would be coming in 2024 – marking six years since the released of her record-breaking debut album, Invasion of Privacy.
In March, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper showed that she had tons of songs, including some recorded as long ago as early 2023.
The Instagram video was captioned: “January 2023 ….I really got like 100 songs,” and the video showed a screen full of tracks for a song labeled “Cunty,” all recorded in late January of last year between 4 and 5 in the morning.
“January 27 of 20-20-fuckin’-three. I be working on this shit at 5 a.m. — you know I’m a night owl,” she said, referring to her work on that track. “I promise y’all this year: I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say… If I do a song, Imma just fuckin’ drop it.
“Well, I got no choice, because I’m dropping my album this year, so stay tuned for the announcement.”
While celebrating Invasion Of Privacy‘s anniversary last month, Cardi also teased some new info about the next LP.
“6 years ago I released my first album and it broke so many records GAH LEE!!” she wrote, below the album art for her freshman release. “6 years later I’m preparing to drop the next one this year.. it’s so different from what everyone is expecting and I’m sooo excited.”
She continued: “Love you guys and thank you for the support! I’ll talk to ya soon I been so busy these last few days [red heart emoji]”
In March, Cardi gave fans a taste of what they can likely expect from her sophomore release, with her single, “Enough (Miami).” The track arrived two weeks after she dropped the “Like What (Freestyle)” sampling Missy Elliot’s 1999 hit “She’s a Bitch.”
Cardi followed it up with a feature on Shakira’s “Puntería,” the opening track from her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album, which hit shelves mid-March.

That 1 album she did was good regardless of her background, way better than all that nba younboy and lil durk fake singing rapping crap that’s been popular since then, she’s 1 of the better artists to come out in recent years, she probably won’t be able to recapture that lightning in a bottle but at least let’s give her credit for 1 good album
I guess if you put it against that as your standard. That song that blew her up in the first place was a joke. I saw it as what it was just like the Nas X shit, these executives bought out hip hop and make a mockery of it at every turn, and they prove it by manufacturing stars like her, him, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, and almost doing it with Iggy, but she talked too much. They think it’s funny.
In other words, she confirmed that she’s an industry plant, who never wrote a rhyme and has no talent, beyond sex work and drugging people.
