Cardi recently offered up some news on the status of her new album.

Earlier this week, Chart Data revealed that Invasion Of Privacy has sold 500k units in 2024 alone. With the album already being certified 4x platinum since its April 2018 release, it’s pretty safe to say that a fifth certification is imminent.

“Album still sellin like good quality pussy,” she joked. “OKAY OKAY let me stop playing and drop this second album [shh emoji]”

Late last month, Cardi B appeared to ruffle a few feathers after she hopped online and posted a picture of herself in the recording studio.

She captioned the Instagram Story: “Atlantic Records correctional facilities.”

After implying that she was signed to a jail, the Bronx superstar was forced to explain what she meant by the comment.

“The fact that I made a little joke about the studio because I been mixing and mastering about 40-50 songs and y’all turned that into I hate creating is crazy,” she wrote on X. “this why artists don’t interact anymore cuz y’all will take one little joke and stretch it wider than y’all assholes.”

She added: “God forbid I make a little sarcastic jokey jokey about motherhood y’all gonna claim I hate my kids and call cps…dweebs.”

Weeks earlier, Bardi revealed that the album’s photos are also done, telling a fan on X: ““Album covers are taken. I just don’t know which to pick.”

Cardi has not released many details about her sophomore album. But recently some hints dropped as to what the title might be.

TMZ spotted that in July, Cardi’s company Washpoppin, Inc. applied for trademarks to two phrases, specifically wanting to use both in “Pre-recorded record albums featuring music,” among other related uses.

The phrases are “Defamation of character” and “Intrusive thoughts.”

In addition to albums, Cardi also wants to be able to use the phrases for music videos, “downloadable music files,” and more.
