Cardi recently offered up some news on the status of her new album.
Earlier this week, Chart Data revealed that Invasion Of Privacy has sold 500k units in 2024 alone. With the album already being certified 4x platinum since its April 2018 release, itâs pretty safe to say that a fifth certification is imminent.

Taking to X to react to the news, Cardi teased her next LP and implied that it was coming in the near future.

After implying that she was signed to a jail, the Bronx superstar was forced to explain what she meant by the comment.
âThe fact that I made a little joke about the studio because I been mixing and mastering about 40-50 songs and yâall turned that into I hate creating is crazy,â she wrote on X. âthis why artists donât interact anymore cuz yâall will take one little joke and stretch it wider than yâall assholes.â

She added: âGod forbid I make a little sarcastic jokey jokey about motherhood yâall gonna claim I hate my kids and call cpsâŚdweebs.â
Weeks earlier, Bardi revealed that the albumâs photos are also done, telling a fan on X: ââAlbum covers are taken. I just donât know which to pick.â
Cardi has not released many details about her sophomore album. But recently some hints dropped as to what the title might be.
TMZ spotted that in July, Cardiâs company Washpoppin, Inc. applied for trademarks to two phrases, specifically wanting to use both in âPre-recorded record albums featuring music,â among other related uses.

The phrases are âDefamation of characterâ and âIntrusive thoughts.â
In addition to albums, Cardi also wants to be able to use the phrases for music videos, âdownloadable music files,â and more.
