Cardi B just gave birth to her third child, but sheâs already back to work on her long-awaited sophomore album.
Taking to X on Thursday (September 12) just hours after she shared photos of her newborn, the Bronx superstar wrote: âNow is crunch time [album emoji] on my kids.â

Though sheâd shared photos that day, her baby girl actually arrived days prior on Saturday (September 7).
Cardi and Offset have not yet shared the babyâs name, but she joins six-year-old sister Kulture and big brother Wave, who turned three days earlier.

Cardi B has not released many details about her sophomore album, but recently some hints dropped as to what the title might be.
TMZ spotted that in July, Cardiâs company Washpoppin, Inc. applied for trademarks to two phrases, specifically wanting to use both in âPre-recorded record albums featuring music,â among other related uses.

The phrases are âDefamation of characterâ and âIntrusive thoughts.â
In addition to albums, Cardi also wants to be able to use the phrases for music videos, âdownloadable music files,â and more.

The project will follow 2018âs Invasion Of Privacy, which recently hit another sales milestone of moving 500k units in just 2024 alone. With the album already being certified 4x platinum since its April 2018 release, itâs pretty safe to say that a fifth certification is imminent.
Taking to X to react to the news, Cardi teased its follow-up and implied that it was coming in the near future.
âAlbum still sellin like good quality pussy,â she joked. âOKAY OKAY let me stop playing and drop this second album [shh emoji]â
Late last month, Cardi B appeared to ruffle a few feathers after she hopped online and posted a picture of herself in the recording studio.
She captioned the Instagram Story: âAtlantic Records correctional facilities.â
After implying that she was signed to a jail, she was forced to explain what she meant by the comment.
âThe fact that I made a little joke about the studio because I been mixing and mastering about 40-50 songs and yâall turned that into I hate creating is crazy,â she wrote on X. âthis why artists donât interact anymore cuz yâall will take one little joke and stretch it wider than yâall assholes.â
She added: âGod forbid I make a little sarcastic jokey jokey about motherhood yâall gonna claim I hate my kids and call cpsâŠdweebs.â
Weeks earlier, Bardi revealed that the albumâs photos are also done, telling a fan on X: ââAlbum covers are taken. I just donât know which to pick.â
