Busta Bus has been reborn on Clive Davis’s J Records, after leaving Elektra with Anarchy. This past Tuesday, Busta released Genesis, his first release with his new label J Records.
The album features appearances by P. Diddy and Mary J. Blige, as well as three songs produced by Dr Dre. It also features a cover of Public Enemy’s 1991 classic Shut Em Down. Busta pays mad respects to PE and Chuck D, who he says gave him his name because he reminded Chuck of a football player named Buster Rhymes.
This is Busta’s fifth solo album since leaving his group Leaders of the New School back in the early nineties.
