As Bun B noted
in his HipHopDX blog this week, UGK was #1 on the charts with their
newest album, Underground Kingz.
Recently, he spoke with MTV regarding the emotions that come with topping the
charts.
“It feels good…But
I really don’t know how you’re supposed to feel right now. We want to thank all
the fans and the supporters who wanted to see this happen really more than we
did. It’s really vindication for the fans, for the cats who were fighting for
years telling anyone who would listen that UGK was the sh–. It’s really
vindication for them,” he told MTV.
“The music is
still here. People are still here to support you if you make good music,”
he noted.
Although the crew is enjoying the success, Bun added that their run at #1 may end
soon.
“It’s only for
one week,” he joked. “[The
soundtrack for] ‘High School Musical 2’ came out yesterday, so it’s a wrap. We
only have today. But it feels good today.”
