BTB Savage’s alleged killer has been arrested in Houston and is currently being held on a $1million bond.
A report from ABC 13 revealed the suspect, 40-year-old Montrel Lenard Burley, turned himself in to the Harris County Joint Processing Center on Tuesday (April 11).

In a court appearance that immediately followed, Burley’s attorney requested bond be set at $20,000 – while the state requested he be held on no bond at all. Ultimately, the judge decided on the aforementioned $1million, noting that only a district court judge is able to deny bond and that would require a hearing.
In explaining why she set such a high amount, the judge said that a previous conviction for failing to appear in court while out on bail presents a flight risk. She also added that the court is concerned because of the distance Burley allegedly traveled to kill BTB Savage, but his attorney argued that he’d since moved and was much closer to the location.

Should Burley be able to post his bond, he’ll be required to wear a GPS monitor, surrender his passport and remain in Texas for the duration of the case.
An up-and-coming rapper from Houston, BTB Savage was reportedly shot and killed on March 31, hours after seemingly taunting the alleged suspect. The rapper had posted a picture on Twitter showing him flexing jewelry while standing next to blood splatter and a door riddled with bullet holes.
BTB Savage captioned the post “TOO MUCH MOTION” – the same name as a recent music video Burley had released in dedication to the man allegedly slain during a scuffle with Savage.
Burley was later identified as one of two murder suspects wanted in connection to BTB Savage’s death. Court records made public on Monday (April 10) show that he actually was placed under arrest and in custody the day after the deadly shooting, but was released.

Burley was reportedly arrested and charged with narcotics possession during a traffic stop that day, but according to the report, it’s unclear how or why he was released.
