Brandy is set to make her big screen return in the forthcoming horror film The Front Room from A24, and the first official trailer is here.
Based on the short story of the same name by Susan Hill, the film “tells the story of a young, newly pregnant couple who is forced to take in an ailing estranged stepmother.” It will be Sam and Max Eggers’ directorial debut.

In addition to Brandy, Kathryn Hunter, Neal Huff and Andrew Burnap also feature in the movie, due out September 6.
“The House Is Mine,” A24 wrote in their caption with the trailer – jokingly referencing Brandy and Monica‘s 1998 hit. “@Brandy returns to horror to face off against Kathryn Hunter, the wickedest mother-in-law of them all, in THE FRONT ROOM. See it with a crowd on September 6.
Upon the announcement of the film in August 2022, Brandy took to Instagram to say: “It’s official! THE FRONT ROOM from The Eggers’ Brothers @a24 Can’t wait for y’all to see this.
“God you’re Awesome!!!! I trust you with my entire life. Thank you for this amazing opportunity to work with this unbelievable cast, crew, and the studio everyone wants to work with and of course my Eggers fam.”
And speaking of “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy and Monica recently reunited to bolster Ariana Grande‘s rendition of their blockbuster collaboration from over two decades ago.
Earlier this month, Grande dropped the music video for “the boy is mine” from her Eternal Sunshine album, released earlier this year. The track in question reworks the 1998 hit of the same name by the two veteran singers, which earned them the Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.

The visual for new rendition opens with the two icons taking on the roles of news anchors prefacing a speech by disheveled mayor Max Starling, played by Penn Badgley.
Brandy’s brother Ray J also recently discussed the possibility of a tour featuring the two singers, but Monica quickly shut the conversation down, noting there was no contract and thus nothing that should be discussed publicly.
