Bossman Dlow‘s dream of seeing “Big Za on SportsCenter” has come true — sort of — in a very special announcement for his new album.
The rapper, who is a big enough ESPN fan that he has a song called “SportsCenter” and went crazy over the summer when a network announcer quoted his lyrics during a college football game, got to enlist the network’s best-known show to share the news about his upcoming release Dlow Curry, which will be out on Friday (December 13).

The whole Dlow/SportsCenter saga began back in August, when ESPN showed him love by quoting his music.
When the Colorado Buffaloes took on North Dakota State on August 29, lyrics from Dlow’s recent single “PJ” with Lil Baby made their way into the coverage.

“In the words of BossMan Dlow on the sidelines, Colorado — ‘Pockets full of cheese and fresher than Febreze’ right now! Off to a great start!” announcer Mark Jones said.
After a fan posted the video to X, Dlow shared the clip and asked for an invitation to the network’s flagship program.

“PUT BIG ZA ON SPORTSCENTER!!” he wrote with a laughing emoji.
Not everyone is a fan of ESPN and the ways they tap in with the culture, however.

Last year, Cam’ron and Ma$e put the network on blast for allegedly jacking a segment of their It Is What It Is sports debate show.
The two rappers called out presenters such as Malika Andrews and Kendrick Perkins in an episode of It Is What It Is last July over use of the word “cap” as the network launched a “cap” segment as part of some of its debate shows.
“That’s crazy,” Ma$e said in disgust. “We need to jack them back. Pause. Malika Andrews and Kendrick Perkins, they be like, ‘So is this cap or not?’ When the fuck did y’all start writing about what’s cap?
“Secondly, I don’t think Malika might know what cap was until somebody said, ‘We’re gonna do a cap segment.’ For ESPN to throw a cap segment in there, we just did the cap hats and all types of shit. Now they got a cap segment.”

Fans appeared to agree with Cam and Ma$e, with one commenting: “Don’t trust Malika and ESPN scrambling right now.”
