Boosie Badazz isn’t happy with a new documentary about him, and he has pointed out what he says are errors in the project.
On Saturday (October 28), the Baton Rouge native shared a series of tweets in which he called out a YouTube documentary by Swamp Stories titled Rap’s Alleged Serial Killer, EXPOSING The Evil Life of Boosie in Detail… In four consecutive posts about the film, which was released in early October, he said that the production got details about his father and his friends all wrong.
“YALL MFS MAKING THESE FAKE DOCUMENTARIES ON YOUTUBE DONT BE KNOWING WHAT THE HELL YALL TALKING BOUT,” he began. “SMH DONT EVEN KNOW MY DADDY NAME [O]R MY NAME IM NOT A JR DUMMY N THIS IS NOT MY DADDY NAME [downward-button emoji] ITS IVY RAY HATCH STUPID MF LET ME BE GREAT.

He continued, speaking about what he said were misrepresentations about his relationship with his late friend, Baton Rouge rapper “Lil” Ivy Smith, who was killed in 2005.

Boosie has been critical of other such undertakings, namely Trap Lore Ross’ viral deep-dive, King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer. “YouTube, and all these people who think they know about all this shit, they don’t know what the fuck they talking about,” he told DJ Vlad. “You don’t know what the fuck happened, bro. You don’t know who the fuck shot who.”

During an interview with TMZ earlier this year, the British filmmaker responded to the backlash his documentary generated from figures in Hip Hop, saying that it was most likely because not everyone has watched the whole thing.
“[If] Boosie watches the rest of the documentary — he said he only got like 30 minutes in, right? — I feel like maybe if he checks the whole thing out … I don’t know, let’s see how he feels,” he said.

After clarifying how much he looks up to DJ Vlad, who also bashed the project, Ross added: “I think Vlad did say he hadn’t seen the documentary yet, and once again, I think if you watch all the documentary, I think you would understand … ’cause I guess Boosie’s kinda coloring Vlad’s response, in the sense that Boosie’s saying it’s all cap and Vlad’s kinda like, ‘Ah yeah, it’s all cap.’”
Ross’ documentary about Von, which was released in early 2023, was denounced by many for being distasteful because it connects the late rapper to several alleged murders. Upon its release, the video was pulled from YouTube, but then re-uploaded soon after.
