Blu and Exile have unexpectedly released a stream for their sophomore release give me my flowers while i can smell them, also available for purchase.
The 15-track LP, described as “unfinished” as well as unmixed and unmastered on their Bandcamp page, features guest appearances from Johaz and Fashawn on the cut “Everybody Nose.” In a note on the page, Blu writes that the album is dedicated to Exile’s mother, his great great grandmother and his grandmother.

Track 13 sounds out of place on this soulful album, I don’t get that. LOVE THIS ALBUM THOUGH! Blu is my favorite MC, next to Black Thought!

It says unmixed and unmastered at the bottom of the bandcamp…I agree though, vox on a bunch are low and “she said its ok” actually has some really awful clips all throughout.

I like Blu, and will pay good money for a quality, finished, MASTERED album. I’m not paying money for shit that isn’t even finished.

I understand that properly mixing an album is expensive and I respect Blus struggle. But he is really hurting the impact of his music with releasing these half-assed albums. This could have been so much better than it is at this point. At least redo the levels properly goddamn! 🙁

Man, I tell you what, Blu reminds me of those essentrics that straight up does not care about quality control when it comes to music. He just wants to share it with the people, be it mixed, mastered, finished, unfinished, whatever! He only gives a fuck about getting the music out to the people. I respect it, and I will cop the joint when he releases a tangible, mastered piece of material. Until then, I will just bump this. Your my boy, Blu!!!!!!
