Big Sean has confirmed that a new track played as he wrapped his Rolling Loud set over the weekend is set to hit streaming platforms this week.

In a clip captured by Instagram blogger Riki P. on Saturday (March 16), Big Sean is seen running off stage as the hook to a song plays in the background. The Detroit MC’s signature adlib is heard playing over the same horn-heavy sample as Three 6 Mafia‘s 2005 hit “Poppin’ My Collar,” featuring Project Pat.

“At the end of his set at Rolling Loud, @bigsean mentioned new music dropping next week & played a snippet of a new song,” reads the caption to the post. “Love the ‘Poppin My Collar’ flip.”

A second slide captures part of the track’s first verse, which was played for fans in the Rolling Loud audience as well.

Hours after Riki P. shared the snippet, Big Sean himself jumped in the comments to further confirm that the track is set to hit all platforms this week.

“Not sure why the lyrics were goin in n out like that?! But anyway, next week its on!,” he wrote along with a string of flame emojis.

Hints that new music might near began appearing on social media late last week, when the “IDFWU” rapper — who, in February, promised new music would arrive this year —cleared his Instagram of all posts, save for the post announcing the birth of his son.

On Friday (March 15) he added a new post to his feed, which finds him waxing poetic on the importance of being clear in one’s mind, interspersed with snippets from what appears to be the recording sessions for his new album.

“Clarity,” he begins. “And really, re-establishing your clarity. It’s something I had to go over, myself. But I realize we’re all probably dealing with time moving so fast, and trying to keep up with ourselves. And I feel like that’s when it really helps the most.

“I feel like when you really take the time to put that attention on your intention, that’s the quickest way to get to where you are now, to where you desire to be at, you know? […] Life changes all the time. And it’s alright to change with it. […] A lot of times, your ego gets in the way. But your heart knows, you know?”

He continues: “It’s alright to check in with yourself and ask: ‘Is this what you still desire?’” he concluded. “Just ask yourself: ‘How clear am I on this?’ You know? It’s okay to change your mind. It’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to learn your lessons. It’s okay to be human.”

Elsewhere in the video, a blurred-out whiteboard containing what is presumed to be the tracklist for his new album can be spotted in one studio shot. And while a list of features is not revealed, the video does include cameo appearances from the likes of Tyler, The CreatorTimbalandHit-BoyAlchemist and more.
