Beyoncé and her BeyGOOD foundation have donated a whopping $2.5 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund, specifically aimed at helping those who lost their homes and businesses in the Eaton Fire.
“Los Angeles we stand with you,” the foundation’s official page wrote with a heart on Instagram on Sunday (January 12). “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars. The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.”

While the Eaton Fire is just one of multiple fires that have devastated Los Angeles this past week, it affects the historically Black community of Altadena and many working-class families.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, lost her Malibu home in the Palisades fire last week. While she acknowledged the loss, she has since focused her efforts on sharing resources to help the less privileged.
The fires have caused devastation far and wide throughout Los Angeles, and Madlib revealed this week that he lost his home as a result.
On Monday (January 13), the producer and his manager Stacy Epps shared the sad news via social media.

“We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support in helping legendary producer Madlib and his family rebuild after losing their home, decades of music, and equipment in the devastating LA fires,” they both posted on Instagram.
They shared a link to an online fundraiser to “Help Madlib and His Family Rebuild After Tragic Loss.”
“Your donation, no matter the amount, will provide assistance to help Madlib with immediate personal needs, essentials like clothing, temporary housing, transportation costs and the tools Madlib needs to continue creating the music that has touched so many lives,” the post continued.
“100% of your donations are tax deductible and will go directly to Madlib and his family.”
