Benzino Blasts Busta Rhymes For ‘Half-Naked’ Video With His Daughter Coi Leray

Benzino has called out Busta Rhymes for filming a “half-naked” video with his daughter, Coi Leray.

Busta recently collaborated with Leray on “Luxury Life” from his upcoming album Blockbusta, with the pair also filming a music video for the song.

However, the former The Source co-owner has taken issue with the visual, which features numerous scenes of Coi in skimpy outfits, claiming the contents of the video are inappropriate and that Busta Rhymes should have contacted him about it first.

“The whole Busta Rhymes collaboration — like, he should have reached out to me,” he said on Instagram Live. “You don’t do no video with my daughter half-naked. You a grown ass fucking man.

“He should have reached out to me and said something. But it is what is. She’s grown, she can do what she want. But I wasn’t with that. All I can do is have my opinions from afar. Once they reach a certain age, it doesn’t matter what I think.”

He added: “The internet is definitely killing the family communication, the family bond.”

Benzino also criticized Angie Martinez for “manipulating” the situation with Coi Leray’s appearance on her podcast, claiming she should “know better.”

“I know Angie Martinez doesn’t like me. I don’t like her either,” he said. “But to sit there and interview my daughter and manipulate the situation, she knew what she was doing. I’m not gon’ call her any names or anything. That was the old ‘Zino, so I’m gonna try to keep in respectful. But she was wrong.

“She’s a woman too, an older woman, so she shoulda knew better. You don’t play with peoples’ kids. And that’s what’s so disheartening about this.”

Benzino also shared his thoughts on Coi Leray choosing music as a career path, saying he “didn’t see her in that light.”

“I didn’t know Coi felt this way about me and it hurts. It hurts bad,” he said. “You know, y’all are just seeing the surface of it on the internet. But in real life, shit ain’t cool. Wish it never happened. I know she got nominated for a Grammy and lord knows I want her to win it.

“Now, I have three boys. Coi’s my only girl, so you know, girls are harder. Boys, you think they have it all figured out because boys, you’re looking at them as young men. So it’s not that you’re not protective of them, but girls, you’re overprotective.”

He added: “I supported Coi wanting to do music because that’s all she’s ever been around. She’s only been around studios when she was doing music. I wasn’t necessarily with her being half-naked on Instagram or talking about certain subjects she did in her music.

“But that didn’t mean I didn’t want her to do music. I thought she was gonna go to college. I didn’t see her in that light. But she’s very successful. I’m proud of her.”

      1. This was the first time I heard the song. I was surprised they used Jay-Z ain’t no n&&ga beat but with it being Busta,
I expected it to be fire. It wasn’t tho, I was disappointed when I heard Busta rhyming and turned it off when I heard shorty.

    1. So why isn’t he addressing his daughter? Why isn’t he shaming her for his issues with her decision to dress like that? Why isn’t he expressing his disappointment with her? Decent song. Don’t like the rip from Ann, too similar in the beat but still decent. Actually have lyrics, story, and flow.

      1. I mention it in my post, ANN, And i don’t like how its identical to the original. They should have switched the sample. Way too similar. Fat joe did an After the laughter homage to Wu/Rza now that was a nice flip off Rza’s beat.

      2. His assumption is that a hoe’s gonna be a hoe. He can’t stop her, but there should be a code for men that should be respected.

    2. Goddamn Busta Rhymes what’s up with that Donkey Kong look alike my nikka? I thought you quit using steroids SMH

    3. Benzino, you’re involved with hiphop. You should be well aware it’s full of degenerate behavior such as the following: demeaning women, cursing up a storm, endorsing or glorifying violence, sex with lots of people, veing disrespectful, glorifying ignorance, poor dialect, and so on. I love hiphop music, but I’m more of a fan of the respectful gangster rap, aka people like Masta Ace. He never glorified bad things. The opposite, he glorified being intelligent, speaking with proper pronunciation, and being a good human being. So Benzino, do not be shocked or upset, you chose this life, and your daughter gets to be one of the many hiphop thots who are essentially hoes for money.

    4. The song was a waste just trash probably would’ve been better without her on the track anyway besides ain’t nobody checking for that lil boy anyway so calm down noooo neck
