The Beastie Boys have prepared their response to anti-semitic graffiti that appeared at late member Adam “MCA” Yauch’s park in Brooklyn, New York this week.
The iconic group is planning an anti-hate rally in the same park where swastikas and “Go Trump” were painted on the playground equipment in the weeks after Donald Trump was elected president. The rally is to be held tomorrow (November 20) at 11:30 a.m. EST.
Yauch passed away from cancer in 2012 at the age of 47. The remaining members of the Beastie Boys, Mike D and Ad-Rock, continue his legacy as they celebrated the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Licensed to Ill earlier this week.
This is a great cause. But of course the participants will turn this into an anti-Trump rally.
Dentaldamboy… both your screen name and comment clearly represent how far off you are from the “real thing”. Firstly, this thing hasn’t even happened yet. Secondly, you clearly don’t know anything about Adam Yauch, his life’s work, his overarching message, and his dedicated fanbase that will fill this park up tomorrow. Read his lyrics to the song “Bodhisattva vow”. Those are the words that will move feet to march to this park tomorrow. Thirdly, it’s not an Anti-Trump rally, it’s anti-racism, sexism, misogyny, and hate. It just so happens to be a rally against everything that he currently represents to the educated masses. If these people are wrong, grab members of your party and march along with us and help drown this ugly f’n hate out with love. After all, it’s the Brooklyn Way.
I clearly said that those in attendance will turn this into an anti-Trump rally. I hope that I’m incorrect. We will see tomorrow.
No, it sounds like you’re talking about the Liberals, damn Democrats.
why deleting posts???
Man… this is exactly how you turn the hate around. Bring people together to unite, not separately. Would be nice if the Beastie’s were able to get Tribe in there and possibly perform some songs together. Keep it classy NYC!
I’m betting that liberals are behind this vandalism. They are known for creating false hate crimes to stir up division.
