According to the Burlington Count Times, Philly rapper Beanie Sigel [click to read] was arrested early Sunday morning after the car he was traveling in was pulled over for a traffic stop. Police then found under 50 grams of marijuana on the rapper and he was immediately arrested.
Aside from Beanie [click to read], the driver of the car and another passenger were also arrested.
The three men were on their way to a private performance at Kelly’s Bar, a local tavern in New Jersey. As a result of Sigel’s arrest the performance was canceled.
Kelly’s Bar has seen it’s fair share of disturbances in the past few months due to the tavern’s Teen Night functions.
“We can’t afford bad publicity at this point,” local Councilman Jim Severns told the Burlington Count Times of Beanie Sigel’s arrest.
There is no word yet on whether or not the performance will be rescheduled and a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police believes the men are not in jail at this time.
Currently, Beanie Sigel [click to read] is preparing for the release of his upcoming album The Broad Street Bully.
