Baby Tate has taken to wax to respond to Hitmaka, who recently made some controversial comments about the current crop of female rappers.
The multi-platinum producer, who began his career as a rapper in the mid 2000s under the name Yung Berg, caused a stir earlier this month by claiming too many female MCs are preoccupied with rapping about sex.

“Can’t wait to work with a pretty female rapper that’s strictly about bars to even the playing field,” he tweeted on Sunday (December 18). “Pussy rap was cool when it had shock value & was rare.
“Now it’s like every girl taking it there. It’s sum who aren’t but they need a hit producer 4 impact.”

In perhaps the most effective way at proving him wrong, 2022 HipHopDX Rising Star Baby Tate fired back at Hitmaka by releasing a new song on SoundCloud on Tuesday (December 20).
Titled “Pu$$y R@pp3r,” the hard-hitting, JT Beatz-produced track finds the Atlanta native refuting the producer’s claims and reminding him that women are on top in Hip Hop right now.

“Now fly yourself across the globe, turn the radio on / I bet you can’t find a station that ain’t playing a song that’s by a woman,” she raps, before adding: “The girls running circles ’round these n-ggas blindfolded / If you don’t see it, you ain’t got your eyes open.”
Tate also puts Hitmaka’s own career under the microscope, mocking him for his supposed lack of hits while questioning his masculinity.

Baby Tate also posted a video of her lip-syncing “Pu$$y R@pp3r” on TikTok and Instagram, and clarified in her caption that the song is about showcasing her bars, not sparking beef.
“Pu$$y R@pp3r out now on my SoundCloud [halo emoji],” she wrote. “tag someone who needs to hear this I’ll start @hitmaka @derrickmilano @londonjae #respectfully no beef just bars love u [blowing kiss emoji].”
Baby Tate isn’t the only rapper to have responded to Hitmaka. Earlier this week, Dallas’ own Asian Doll seemingly clapped back at his comments by sticking up for her Hip Hop sisters.
“I feel like why do n-ggas always worried bout what female rappers rap about? Niggas been rapping bout the same thing since rap was invented,” she tweeted on Monday (December 19). “ladies rap for the ladies not for you n-ggas & we running shit rn so let us be US even tho I don’t only rap about my pussy still Stfu.”

While Saweetie has yet to weigh in on the debate, the Icy Girl echoed a similar sentiment last month when she claimed female rappers are “running” Hip Hop, partly thanks to male artists’ preoccupation with destructive topics.
“[In] L.A. and other cities, it just goes to show that this is the reason why women is running rap and Hip Hop,” she told Bootleg Kev. “Because there’s just so much violence and disrespect in the male music. What was it, like ’16/’17? remember when like YG, Tyga, Chris [Brown], Big Sean, TeeFlii was out? It was fun, party music.”
She added: “It wasn’t like, ‘I’ma do this to you, and this, and this,’ you know? I feel like we gotta raise the vibration with the music and get back to having a good time. [I feel like there’s definitely a lack of] empathy and love, for real.”
Coincidentally, Hitmaka also had something to say about the Saweetie’s The Single Life EP following its release in November, claiming someone in her team has to answer for the project reportedly selling just 2,000 copies in its first week.
