A two-day trial has been scheduled in June for an aspiring Virginia rapper. Prosecutors claim that Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin, the rapper, believed he had to sacrifice a friend to join the Illuminati.
Timesdispatch.com reports that Henrico Circuit Judge L.A. Harris, Jr. denied bond Thursday (March 21) for Wafeeq Sabir El-Amin, 27, after El-Amin was described as a danger to the public.
“You are my sacrifice,” El-Amin allegedly said before allegedly firing a shot at his friend’s head inside a Henrico County, Virginia home.
The victim awoke from sleep to see El-Amin pointing a gun at his head and saying that the victim needed to be sacrificed. Miraculously, the bullet ricocheted off the victim’s hand, sending bone and skin fragments into his eye. The victim was able to wrestle the gun away from El-Amin and shoot him in the stomach before running off.
El-Amin was apparently obsessed with the career of 50 Cent, as well as a book about the role of the Illuminati in Hip Hop. Many artists, such as Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, often reference the semi-fictitious society.
El-Amin, who had no prior criminal record, is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
