A$AP Rocky has announced another new business venture in the wake of being declared not guilty on all counts in his felony assault trial.
Days after he received the verdict, Ray-Ban revealed Rocky as their first-ever creative director in a press release on Friday (February 21). In his role, he will oversee design on various releases – the first of which is a reimagining of some of their signature frames.
Dubbed the “Blacked Out” collection, the new elements will include gold-plated details and ultra-black lenses. The line is due out in April
In a statement, Ray-Ban president Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio said: “Today, we are welcoming A$AP Rocky into our family; he’s a visionary artist and creator. His ability to push the boundaries of the diverse worlds he explores, aligns with the Ray-Ban DNA. We are reinforcing the brand’s values of innovation, pioneering spirit, and courage. Let the future begin!”

Rocky added: “I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving. I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”
The Harlem rapper wore Ray-Ban with all of his court looks, seemingly teasing the partnership as they awaited the verdict to know whether to move forward.
After kicking off on January 24, A$AP Rocky’s gun trial for allegedly shooting A$AP Relli in November 2021 came to a close after nearly three weeks on Friday (February 14). The jury gathered to deliberate on Tuesday (February 18) and after around three hours, they came to a conclusion.

In just the few days since, Rocky has not only announced his Ray-Ban partnership, but he has also moved forward in buying into UK soccer club Tranmere Rovers as part of an investment group headed by his lawyer, Joe Tacopina.
And on the music front, he teased a new song from his long-awaited and oft-delayed album Don’t Be Dumb– seemingly signaling its imminent release.
The brief snippet, which surfaced on Thursday (February 20), finds Pretty Flacko rapping in a high-energy triplet flow, more reminiscent of his early material than the psychedelic vibes that his more recent output has experimented with.
“Me and these rappers, we nothing alike,” he spits over the dark, piano-laced production.
