Ohio rapper Ahlotta, whose up-and-coming career was being watched with great interest, has been found dead — and now, her boyfriend has been arrested for her murder.
Cleveland 19 reports that the rapper (real name Breneisha Lightfoot) went missing earlier this week — which also happened to coincide with her birthday — and her family and friends were unable to find her or get in touch with her. As such, they called the police to request a wellness check on Tuesday (July 18).

Police arrived to Ahlotta’s apartment in the Bedford district of Cleveland, OH, and found evidence that “someone may have been seriously injured there,” per the outlet.
The person that was last known to have been with the Ohio rapper was her boyfriend, Michael Roarty-Nugent. But when police went to question him with regard to Ahlotta’s whereabouts, he too turned up missing.
At that point, authorities declared that Roarty-Nugent was a “person of interest” in the Ohio rapper’s disappearance.
Local NBC affiliate WKYC 3 reports that a search was then launched for the Ohio rapper, and her body was ultimately found on Friday (July 21) in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland, OH.
“The discovery of Lightfoot’s body comes on the same day that police arrested her boyfriend, Michael Roarty-Nugent,” reported the outlet. “Charges against him are ‘forthcoming,’ according to a statement by Bedford Deputy Police Chief Rick Suts.”

So, while Roarty-Nugent has not been officially charged with her murder, it appears as though he’s the only suspect in the case. It’s not clear, yet, whether the official charges will include murder — and to what degree — or manslaughter.
Ahlotta’s last social media posts were on TikTok on July 14. On that day, she made a series of three videos.
The first one was humorous in nature, and featured her telling a joke about “the last piece of gum in the pack.” The second video featured the Ohio rapper doing her hair while lip-synching “How To Love” by Nina Las Vegas.
The final video, however, raises some eyebrows. In the video, the Ohio rapper can be seen standing behind her sister and a man that appears to be Roarty-Nugent. “POV: when you get in an argument with ya man and he finally not wrong and yo sister take his side instead of yours,” she wrote in the video.

“I thought we was family you supposed to ride if im right or wrong and im never wrong even im wrong,” she captioned the video.
The Ohio rapper can then be seen lip-synching, “but I am telling you right now, that muthafucka back there is not real.”
