Akon has gifted French Montana a brand new watch to make up for his gaffe where he purchased Montana and himself fake Hublots in New York City.

After N.O.R.E. teased Akon about getting swindled for the watches in their upcoming Drink Champs interview, the “Locked Up” rapper made sure to put an end to the chatter while linking up with French on Tuesday night (July 11).

In a video posted to Instagram, the Coke Boys capo can be seen showing off the new wristwear while Akon’s “Smack That” booms in the background.

“And guess who I run into? Hold on, he’s icy,” French said to Akon, who was also rocking a flossy new watch. “That’s the watch.”

N.O.R.E., for one, was happy to see that bringing up the watch blunder pushed Akon to right his wrong.

“I can’t stop laughing and smiling @akon did the right thing @frenchmontana love y’all both salute,” he wrote in a comment under French’s post.

The Drink Champs co-host poked fun at the situation in a teaser for their aforementioned interview, but Akon revealed that not only did he purchase a watch for French Montana, but he also bought one for himself that turned out to be fake.

“Listen, me and French got got that day,” Akon admitted. “I’m the one that lost money. I bought two new watches — one for me and one for [French].

“Here’s the thing: I didn’t know what a Hublot was. I just knew that I liked that. It was a nice watch. So, the dude was selling watches. And I said, ‘Yo, how much is that watch?’

“He said, ‘Normally about $15,000 to $20,000. But I got a guy that can get it for us for $5,000,” he continued, before admitting he made the purchase on Canal Street — a popular street in New York City known for selling knockoff swag.
