Ab-Soul has shared a new collaboration with Roc Marciano from what appears to be an upcoming album.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday (April 1), the TDE rapper paid tribute to his late friend Armon “Doe Burger” Stringer, who the untitled track (which features production from Marci) is dedicated to.

Soul also appeared to reveal the title of his new project, Soul Burger: The Odyssey, indicating that it may be a deluxe edition of his album from last year.

“I ain’t gon hold you boss dawg… I was an inch away from just sayin fucc it and pushin the button on this 1,” he wrote. “But, I value your vision and I know you only aspire to present quality art in the most effective way. Especially knowing how personal this is to me.

“I’m sure my emotions are clouding my judgement to some degree, but this piece is truly a matter of the heart. I miss him. It’s imperative that I let the world know the impact my brother left on me and so many others.

The Carson, California native concluded by giving props to J. Cole: “P.S. Preciate the insight Cole. It was much needed. Don’t ever lose that passion bro.”

Ab-Soul previously expressed his belief that Soul Burger, which was also inspired by the 2021 death of Doe Burger, had been overlooked by fans and critics when it dropped last November.

“THIS MAY BE DISTASTEFUL FOR ME TO SAY ON MY OWN, GIVEN THE INSATIABLE STATE OF SOCIAL MEDIA. BUT, FUCC IT. SOUL BURGER IS A PHENOMENAL BODY OF WORK. I PUT IT ALL ON THE TABLE. STOP PRETENDING TO OVERLOOK ME. ITS UNBECOMING OF THE CULTURE,” he vented on social media.

Clocking in at 15 songs, Soul Burger boasted appearances from Lupe FiascoVince StaplesDoechiiJIDTy Dolla $ignBlxstJasonMartin (f.k.a. Problem) and TDE president (and occasional rapper) Terrence “Punch” Henderson, among others.

However, the album was a commercial disappontment as it failed to crack the Billboard 200, marking Soul’s second project in a row to do so.
