9lokknine‘s fans have made a plea for his release after the rapper looked unrecognizable in a series of new prison photos.
On Thursday (May 25), photos of the Orlando rapper showed him touting a new look, saying goodbye to his trademark dreadlocks. In one photo, the incarcerated rapper, 23, is seen posing in gray sweats and sneakers while rocking an afro.

In a second photo, the “Crayola” rapper’s trim frame appears to have filled out, suggesting he’s possibly been hitting the weights behind bars.
Needless to say, fans chimed in with their concern regarding 9lokknine (real name Jacquavius Dennard Smith) and his drastically different appearance.

“Damn n***a was skinny wat happened [skull emoji],” wrote one user. “Free da one who matters [salute emoji],” added another.

The Cash Money rhymer is currently serving seven years in prison for a slew of violations including federal charges of Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Aggravated Identity Theft and Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. He was also hit with a fine to the tune of $10,416 in restitution.
Following his sentence, the 23-year-old rapper has been ordered to undergo supervised release and drug treatment for three years.

Investigators accused the rapper of firing a gun into an Orlando home in July 2021 in an attempt to target another rapper. Although a woman was inside with her children at the time, no one was injured.
A witness reportedly told detectives: “9lokknine wants to be the only rapper coming from Orlando.”
Smith has a substantial arrest record. In June 2020, he was taken into custody in Orlando, Florida on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and illegal firearm possession. He was slapped with 17 charges in total, with the most serious being possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and third-degree grand theft of a firearm.
At only 15 years old, he was arrested in connection to a shooting that left a fellow teenager hospitalized. Consequently, he was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm as well as also a violation of probation for trespassing.

In October 2018, 9lokknine was taken into custody again on several charges, including possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted delinquent, grand theft in the third degree and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Prior to his legal troubles, 9lokknine dropped a series of mixtapes including 2019’s Mind of Destruction, 2018’s Loyalty Kill Love and Bloodshells Revenge.
