But the event, which St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman later publicly condemned, wound up costing the venue their lease.
According to Tampa Bay Times, Sky Addict Aviation has just six months to pack up and leave the 3,000 square foot hangar and office space.
Kriseman tweeted at the time, “This isn’t how we should be celebrating the Super Bowl. It’s not safe or smart. It’s stupid. We’re going to take a very close look at this, and it may end up costing someone lot more than 50 cent @TMZ.”
Sky Addict Aviations’s five-year term had just been renewed in December 2020. In the termination letter, the city’s director of real estate and property management Alfred Wendler cited a provision in the lease that allows for termination without cause but provides a 180 days notice.

It is my opinion that you’ve reacted prior thinking this through.
Why have you punished a company for honoring a signed contract with a patron?
The action you’ve taken may place the employees of this company on the unemployment rolls, or the welfare systems of your state. The families of the employees may loose their homes, the security they’ve had for being employed.
It is my opinion that your focus should be on making sure the vaccinations are distributed. It looks like you haven’t taken into consideration the other events that’s occurred in your city during this pandemic. Did you evict other companies for honoring contracts they’ve signed with patrons?
