50 Cent has formally commenced legal proceedings against movie producer, Ryan Kavanaugh, to halt the release of horror film, SkillHouse.

50 is credited as an actor and co-producer of the film, which was shot back in 2022, but claims in his suit that he never signed a final deal with producers.

50 further alleges that he and Kavanaugh sketched out basic details of a deal but ultimately no contract was signed between the two parties.

The rapper and actor claims that he was used in promotion for the film despite not having signed a contract and that he would not have agreed to appear in the movie unless he had creative input.

50 also alleges that he has not been paid for his work nor the use of his image in promotional materials.

The G-Unit boss is ultimately seeking the film be blocked from release and he receive $5 million in damages.

50 also took a shot at Kavanaugh on social media after news of the suit broke, commenting: “I didn’t get paid I’m afraid I’m gonna need that by Monday. You already know the vibes!”

Kavanaugh is yet to respond to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit should come as no surprise given 50 Cent blasted Kavanaugh on Instagram last week over his handling of the movie and had been threatening to block its release in cinemas.

He wrote on Instagram: “They can’t release this MOVIE SKILL HOUSE without my signature which they do not have. What kinda business are they doing? I’d hate to have to demonstrate.”

Fif added in a separate post: “This guy Ryan Kavanaugh is doing everything in his power to make me kill this movie. This one is going in the trash can.”

The rapper and actor then began attacking the producer personally, posting screenshots of articles about his past arrest for drink driving.

“Here he is guys, he must be drunk right now fucking wit me. Top Financier get the fuck outta here,” he wrote in the caption.

Kavanaugh did also not respond to 50’s comments on social media.

SkillHouse is currently scheduled to be released on July 11 but that could be affected by 50 Cent’s lawsuit.
