No longer with Shady/Aftermath Records or parent company Interscope, 50 Cent recently tweeted that he is looking to top his work from over eight years ago.

The rapper then revealed that he has recorded a song with one of his mentors, Dr. Dre, that the masses should be hearing soon.

50 really seems forced to try to have an album on the same level as GRODT. He just can’t top it. This is making me alienate myself from his music more and more. I mean you don’t see Nas saying his next album is going to top Illmatic or Jay saying that his next album is going to top Reasonable Doubt. They just keep focusing on making good music as time goes on. I think 50 needs to follow suit because besides a few songs here and there, I haven’t fully felt his music since The Massacre.

I’m the furthest thing from a 50 follower, but real talk, I liked his early mix tape work and GRODT. That’s where it ends. But his first studio album was hungry and I’m not ashamed to say I copped. Once we all realized he’s a one trick pony that has basic vocab, we moved on. Period.
