50 Cent’s Power Book II: Ghost returned with Season 3’s premiere last week and the STARZ juggernaut has broken another viewer record.

According to Deadline, Season 3’s debut smashed STARZ’s previous premiere record with 5.8 million viewers across platforms through the first three days of availability since being released on March 17. The cumulative number is a huge jump compared to the estimated 362,000 live broadcast viewers that tuned in on Friday night.

The weekend viewership for Season 3’s multi-platform premiere was also reportedly up about 30 percent compared to Season 2’s debut in November 2021.

Although, previous seasons went live on STARZ on Sunday nights and averaged about 500,000 viewers live, the show has since made the switch to Fridays.

The first episode got off to a gruesome start as a new crew was introduced and made their wrath felt as a possible threat to Tariq, while the Tejada family is still mourning the loss of star basketball player Zeke. There’s even a thrilling twist to end the episode with someone making a very unexpected appearance.

Meanwhile, Season 4 was quickly greenlit and production is already in motion for the upcoming season in New York City with actor Michael Ealy set to be introduced as a regular on the show.

Ealy will play the part of Detective Don Carter, an NYPD officer set to become Police Commissioner until his wife is murdered by drug gangs.

Power Book II: Ghost continues to resonate with our viewers and we’re thrilled to get season four production underway ahead of our season three debut,” Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ, said. “It’s clear our fans are ready to devour more of this explosive series and we look forward to having Michael join our incredible cast.”

Even though he’s moved onto FOX after his relationship with STARZ soured and his deal expired last year, 50 Cent is still involved in Power as an executive producer and maintained his high hopes for Season 3.

“It’s lit March 17 we getting ready to do STARWARS numbers LOL,” he wrote to Instagram last month.
