50 Cent Leaves Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment & Interscope Records

50 Cent announced today (February 20) that he and G-Unit Records have signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG, according to The Sacramento Bee.

This marks 50 Cent’s departure from Interscope Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records, where 50 Cent spent 12 years. His discography as a part of Shady/Aftermath/Interscope includes Get Rich or Die Tryin’The MassacreCurtis and Before I Self Destruct, all of which will continue to be marketed and sold by Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, according to the report.

50 Cent, who is now an independent artist according to the Washington Post, thanks Dr. Dre and Eminem in a statement. Dr. Dre and Eminem run Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records, respectively.

“I have had great success to date with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and I’d like to thank Eminem and Dr. Dre for giving me an incredible opportunity,” 50 Cent said in a statement, as per Associated Press. “I’ve learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision.”

In 2012, 50 Cent said he was unhappy with his label situation. “I have lost all faith in the team I’m on,” he said. “I have nothing left to say I will not be promoting my music…I’m going to deliver this album then. I have a film I wrote to focus on I’m not upset I’m just convinced this is not how I want to remembered.”

    1. Good. Who wants to stay on a sinking ship? Aftermath is done. Nuthin is poppin on that label aside from that kid and Slim. Dre’s old ass prolly gonna retire soon with that weak ass headphone money. This aint 2005 anymore-that era is over. I got no doubt 50 gonna put out bangin shit now that his hands aint tied.

    2. Now it all makes sense why he got pulled from SchoolBoy Q’s album. Jimmy made him do it.

Who wants to be on a label run by a 60 year old jew who came up producing rock albums in the 80’s.

    3. lmao guess that’s karma for trying to shit on camron, dblock n other indy artists 10 years ago.. looks like they were actually ahead of their times..

      1. itll brick.. hes a weasel in the game no one wants to fuck with 50. look at school boy Q- 50 such a weasel that Q was shook as shit like idk I don’t want him at my moms house. its a rap game not drug game and nooen wants to deal w his shit. everyone he came up in the game w said fuck 50 that tells u all u need 2 know about him as a person.

    4. Now maybe fiddy can finally release that album that jimmy has prevented and shady and date refused to support. Still, rozays going to kill 50 in album sales. A bit boring to see fiddy idle.

      1. J Cole is going to kill Rozay in album sales LOL.

SAD SHIT, HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE JAY-Z ON THE ALBUM,

CALL ME WHEN ROSS SELLS 30 MILLION

      2. I heard this comes out on June 3rd so I can’t say any more jokes on 50 not releasing albums but still, rozay gonna murder 50. Album sales werestronger, plus 50 a pop star.

      3. You mean the album barely anyone has heard of yet? Also, pharrell a pop star and needed a film in order to boost his career. Also, 50 will bomb and it will be like 50 never released an album at all.

      4. fat joe record wasnt a single, just a kay slay mixtape joint. adam levine was a strategic move by interscope because he was on american idol or some shit and it provided a huge platform to display the song, which was trash and still flopped

    5. 50 Cent announced today that he has signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG. The superstar recording artist transitions to independent status after a successful twelve years at Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, during which time he sold more than 30 million albums. 50 Cent’s highly successful catalog, including Get Rich or Die Tryin’, The Massacre, Curtis and Before I Self Destruct, will continue to be marketed and released by Shady/Aftermath/Interscope.

The artist’s first album under the new agreement will be Animal Ambition, scheduled for release on June 3rd. Album pre-orders will begin on March 18th and fans will immediately receive two instant gratification tracks and the corresponding videos will premiere online. An additional song and video will launch each week leading up to the album’s release.

According to Caroline President Dominic Pandiscia, “We are thrilled to welcome 50 Cent and G-Unit to our family. 50 is simply one of the most accomplished and creative artists, and his plans for the future are as exciting and innovative as you can imagine. I deeply thank him for his belief in our team and what we can do to help support his creative vision in the years to come. I’d also like to thank everyone at Shady/Aftermath and Interscope, particularly Eminem and Dr. Dre, for offering their endorsement and support of our involvement with 50 Cent and G-Unit. They’ve done an incredible job these past 12 years, and we’ve got a great legacy of label partnership to build on.”

50 Cent commented, “I have had great success to date with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and I’d like to thank Eminem and Dr. Dre for giving me an incredible opportunity. I’ve learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision.”

Eminem stated, “Both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had the chance to play a part in 50’s career. Shady simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent. I’ve developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and that’s not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit.”

According to Steve Berman, Vice Chairman of Interscope/Geffen/A&M, “50 Cent is, and always will be, a marquee artist for us at Interscope/Geffen/A&M. We respect his decision to pursue this new venture and the next chapter in his career, and wish him nothing but the best. He will always be a part of our family.”

50 Cent, born Curtis James Jackson III, is an American rapper, entrepreneur, investor, and actor from Queens, New York. The Grammy Award winner has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and has been awarded numerous accolades including 13 Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards, to name a few. He was ranked as the #1 rap artist and most successful Hot 100 Artist of the 2000s by Billboard Magazine, as well as that decade’s sixth-best artist and fourth top male artists of that decade.

What began as music chart dominance for the rap music phenomenon, quickly transformed to success in corporate America as a multi-tiered business mogul to be reckoned with. 50 Cent has also carved out a successful and acclaimed career as an actor, appearing in more than 21 films including “Frozen Ground” with Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, “The Tomb” starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger and he recently wrapped filming on The Prince with Bruce Willis and John Cusack. Recognized as one of the most talented and prolific music artists of his time, 50 Cent has managed to leverage his star power into record breaking brand extensions encompassing a broad spectrum of businesses including artist management, film production, footwear and apparel, fragrance, video games, publishing, headphones and health drinks and supplements.

    6. Well now he doesn’t need anyone so he gonna put out whatever he want at will! So I guess Kidd Kidd, Paris, Pauly D or whoever he signs will get put out.

    7. People don’t realize when you sell 30 million records like Em and 50, etc the labels wont give you freedom. They tell you how the records gotta be, your singles, your features, your videos. Artists on Interscope like French Montana who only sell 150k don’t have to worry about stuff like that because they are small fish in an ocean full of sharks and whales.

      1. when you go independant you have to cover a lot more things about the music you put out, and it comes outta your wallet too. 50 has been focusing on other shit the last few years, he wouldn’t have had time to release anything. he probably only stayed on Shady a bit longer to reap benefits and get a single with Eminem or somethin

      2. ^^ Yeah I can see that, but still, this nigga was already a multi millionaire by 2005, he could have easily start some independent label and profit a lot more without the middle men getting their share

    8. Very informative… 50 Cent put out Get Rich or Die Tryin and Dr. Dre and Eminem run Aftermath and Shady Records. Now I know.

    9. Interscope dropped a brick tryin to push before I self destruct…What did that album do for first week numbers?like 10,000?…50 aint sellin no records unless he gets Timberlake or Miley cyrus on a track.Rap Is DEAD.

      1. 160k first week i think it was, which by his standards was pretty terrible but a lot of rappers wont sell that in a year

      2. before i self destruct was a better album then curtis. his shit leaked hardbody like a month before it was supposed to drop

    10. This is great news! Now Fiddy can exercise his ultimate power and return to putting a stranglehold on the rap game. Not to mention, dominating the charts!

    11. Fiddy doesn’t want to be Jimmy’s puppet anymore like Em. Em will continue to play his role and put out weak ass songs with pop stars to please the sheeple.

      1. Fiddy is a pop rapper his last two biggest hits were with pop stars named Justin Timberlake and
Adam Levine. Fiddy does songs with pop star Skylar Grey.

    12. Once a hostage and now he’s free.

He set another release date too (LOL) but of course you guys didn’t include that. Pre-orders starting March 18 so I think he’s serious this time.

    13. I will miss making jokes about 50 not being able to get an album out but look forward t your reactions when 50 flops hard like snoop dogg and rozay still leading the charts.

      1. Ross groupie with dirty fingernails talking shit again. When has fat ross ever ran charts when he don’t even have a buzzing single?

      2. he gonna sell over 100k less than j cole did, who only had tlc, miguel and kendrick on his album… ross got diddy, jay-z jeezy, lil wayne, scarface, meek, french, etc

      3. I have em but they are short as shit because my job is on computer and I type a lot but that butt hurt guy was so mad he said they were dirty for no reason

    14. Man, I really think Interscope tried to black ball him from the biz. Glad he’s off, he can definitely support himself with this indie move. Hope he gets motivated by this and make hot music. Best of luck!

      1. Dont be stupid, you dont blackball an artist that you own, the more money he makes the more money YOU make stupid.

    15. You mean the album barely anyone has heard of yet? Also, pharrell a pop star and needed a film in order to boost his career. Also, 50 will bomb and it will be like 50 never released an album at all, kind of like b.o.b

      1. and the lil nigga couldn’t sell 250k in a year.

he would of been better independent. how many albums you think keef will get out before they drop him or he gets killed/sent to jail?

      1. I think Interscope was making him do shit like that to get on the charts and radio. Maybe now he can get back to that grimey street shit like Power of the Dollar and GRODT but I’ll wait and see.

      2. At least BEP were actual artists, he could be out here with Miley Cyrus and Macklemore shucking and jiving like French Montna

      1. Actually Yayo was just on IG saying he’s done with the music biz. I think it has something to do with this move.. seems he’s not too happy with Fif right now.

    16. Awww, Karma is a BIATCH! You were talking about folks when they left their label because of bad deals and poor product implementation, now it’s happenig to you! BAWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Just like when you were doggin Ja Rule for singing on his hooks, then you come out right after that with “Candy Shop”? Negro, you are a walking contridiction.

“You got lucky with Ja, why you ain’t go at Shyne?
He freestyled from the pen, that’s just the fact
Said he’d put you with your mom, and you ain’t fucked with that
Then you lied about your pops, he ain’t never bust no cap
Like Father, Like Son, go ask Busta that
I knew from the beginning I couldn’t trust those cats
I’d kill ’em all, if I could bring Justo back”

      1. How is this a bad thing? He will now have the freedom and creative control to do things his way instead of answering to the jewish bean counters at Interscope who just see dollar signs and billboard numbers.

      2. And who do you think owns Capitol/UMG? A jewish Bean counter which by the way is owned by Universal; home to a bunch of bottom feeder sub labels.

      3. Fiddy left one Jew for another Jew because he is just a worker and his 100 million means nothing because those rich Jews have actual power to go with their money.

      4. yo whos Game signed to again? Hows Black Wall Street working out? Or is it Rolex Records now? Oh the Firm, Naw I think he’s calling it Blood Money Entertainment now. LMAO

      5. I second that, Karma is a bitch. 50 Cent talked to much shit about other artists album sales or going independent. Now look at his sorry ass, LOL. its to funny to me.

    17. The only way he can stay relevant in the rap game is if he releases Get Rich Part 2 with the same type of production and similar guests.

      1. What if he just re-creates a classic 2 Pac song and gets Precious Paris on the hook and has Suge Knight talking shit? Thats whats hot in the streets.

      2. Naw he should get Adam Levine on the hook with an Eminem verse and Jake One on the production, the streets LOVE that chemistry.

      1. MMG dont sign POP rapper but they signed Wale after Interscope dropped him and his album outsold Curtis last album so it might work.

    18. I knew there had to be some label politricks behind Q taking him off the album and not even using the song as a bonus track.

    19. This is what happens when you repeatedly use the word Craccer in your music, never forget who scooped your drug dealing scum arse out of the slums and made you rich boy.

    20. Caroline is one of those pseudo-indie labels that isn’t really connected to hiphop in any way. I think he signed to them and avoided the more hiphop-ish indie labels because he doesn’t want people to know he signed to one. Remember, this is the guy who was dissing everyone on koch (e1) and saying that it was “the [career] graveyard”. Of course he’s going to try and go to something people don’t know about to try and hide his situation. lol 50 Cent is such a sad sad story. He went from being one of music’s biggest stars, to a bum on an independent rock label. All of this because of his big mouth. I hope he has some great investments and is saving what money he has, because his career is done. I’m not impressed

      1. fif producing a new tv show coming out on STARZ network, his bonds are diversified yo, hes not trying to get rich off music, he already did

      1. Without Jay-Z and Diddy William Roberts would just be an overweight former c.o. wearing a freeway rick ross costume

      2. just pointing out how everybody in rap would be no where without somebody else.

Em would be nothing without Dre.

      3. Iovine signed Dre and Dre signed Em and Em signed 50 and 50 signed Young Buck and Young Buck signed the Outlawz.

That list goes from richest to poorest.

      4. haha funny you do know wanksta was a mixtape song that blew you do know it was a bidding war for 50 they came to him you do know 50 was doing sold out shows for MIXTAPE songs with no deal at all em got lucky 50 help fund shady records

    21. We glad that we dropped 50. He is a pain in the ass and nobody in the rapgame likes him. 50 Cent is only good in dissing other rappers for no reason. Also we didnt want to release his new garbage album. We have no hard feeling because we made big money of 50’s GRODT album and TM.

      1. dissing rappers for no reason???? truth is most of those rappers were jealous of him and took shots hoping to further their own careers!

“They don’t see the slap, all they hear is the shot
        As soon as somebody hit
I’m sure they’ll run to the cops
How am I a bully of the East
If I don’t start no beef?
        I meet aggression with aggression
I learned that on the streets”

      2. The dumbfuck thought he could diss the God Camron and now he is dropped and shelved on an Indie when he tried to poke fun at Cam for being on an Indie.

    22. How will the 50 Stans spin this story?

      But Fiddy has millions!
But Fiddy sold millions of records!
But Fiddy has business outside of music!

The N-word got dropped from Interscope and his album has been pushed back worse then Lebrons hairline, his own G Unit members dont even fuck with him. Take the L Curtis you earned it.

      GAME WON

      1. can you fuckin read?
50 Cent announced today (February 20) that he and G-Unit Records have signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG

      2. Dudes don’t know how to read. It says HE LEFT. Not dropped. He likely bought himself out of his slave deal because they were letting him rot on the shelf.

      3. Game’s the one who’s Interscope deal expired and didn’t get re-signed, thats basically like getting dropped 4 real. They were done with him, knew he wasn’t worth the money to keep around. Now he has no deal while 50 has worldwide distribution.

      4. Yo money you can’t get dropped and go to another situation like that! If that was true all the other artist would do the same thing. He made a move that most can’t do and still have Worldwide distribution nah b he just did a power move!

    23. “Take 27 emcee’s put them in a line and they’re out of alignment
my assignment since he said retirement
hiding behind 8 Mile and The Chronic
      Gets rich but dies rhyming
      This is hot science
Now add 23 more from Queens to B-more
      I’ve over their heads
Like a bulimic on a seesaw
Now that’s 50 porch monkeys ate up at the same time”

      I WON.

    24. the hate is so hard you motherfuckers cant read he left interscope and got a deal for him and g-unit records

      GAME OVER

    25. Rappers dont leave their label unless they finish out their contract, buy out their contract or they get dropped.

50Cent had one more album on his contract (his own words), but all his recent singles failed and his album kept getting pushed back so the label had no further use for him as an artist and let him go….

      1. He bought his way out or made a deal with the new label. If he got dropped Interscope would say so… you know they would never miss out on an opportunity to make him look like a clown.

      2. uhm no you do know all of his singles charted higher than rozay last album? numbers don’t lie 50 is his own man outside of music so now he controls his music good or him

      3. Rozay can drop 78 flopped singles and still drop an album, Fiddy can have 89 Top 5 singles and still get pushed back.

…damn homie all that money and you still Eminems bitch

    26. he just doing what jay-z did with def jam plain and simple good for him dre dont even make music while you idiots think he got dropped he just put himself in a position to get even bigger I can see certain artist you wouldn’t expect to be on his label now that he is in full control.

    27. “IT DOESNT MAKE A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE TO BE SIGNED TO A WHITE BOY YOU GOT MORE MONEY THAN.

      Postedthe future! | Reply ”

Looks like you believe the hype, because Em has more money than 50 he just does not brag.

      1. 50 got more money then em… coca cola bought vitamin water for 4 billion… 50 had 10% share in it.. do the math sucker… he got more cash.. in laughing straight to the bank he said it best.. WHEN I MADE 50 MILLION EM GOT PAID.. WHEN I MADE 60 MILLION DRE GOT PAID.. WHEN I MADE 80 MILLION JIMMY GOT PAID..I AINT EVEN GOT TO RAP LIFE IS MADE!!!!!

    28. 50 belongs on an Indie he isnt popular enough to be on a major label, he isnt even hot enough to make it on a Schoolboy Q album.

      1. he obviously got dropped from Schoolboy Q’s album because it’s an interscope release and he just left the label. Its politics man.

    29. I’m not impressed….

      1. your dumb…50 WANTED TO OWN HIS MUSIC DUMB ASS.. WHY DROP ALBUM AND HAVE JIMMY, DRE AND EM EAT OFF YOUR SHIT? HE SAID IT IN LAUGHING STRAIGHT TO THE BANK… WHEN I MADE 50 MILL EM GOT PAID.. WHEN I MADE 60 MILL DRE GOT PAID… WHEN I MADE 80 MILLION JIMMY GOT PAID!!!! TRUST ME 50 IS WAY SMARTER THAN YOUR BASIC RAPPER!!!

    30. Im so mad at Fiddy for this. He’s taking away attention from Rozay’s new album. He just remade a Biggie song with French and Puff but you guys are talking about Fiddy who cant even get an album out on interscope.

      1. lol tell rick ross to own his music.. OH WAIT HE CANT!! RICK ROSS SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM MAN… HE LOST HIS PUBLISHING DEAL AND EERYTHING… 50 IS NOW ON THE SAME INDIE LABEL THAT SLIP N SLIDE RECORDS IS… SLIP N SLIDE IS RICK ROSS LABEL THAT OWNS HIM.. 50 IS MAKING A STATEMENT HE ABOUT TO KILL THE GAME!!!

    31. For those saying he’s leaving Jews that only care about money. I have some news for you, music is a business too. 50 doesn’t wanna put 10 mill into a project, recording promoting and setting up everything himself just to bring back 3 milli.

He’s gonna be taking losses from here own out when it comes to cd sales. He still got money, and can make off touring.. But his selling days are over

    32. damn he got a good deal too bad game gotta suck rappers nutts to get his music out got a cash money chain and he not even on the label was shouting out cash money beore the red album dropped he just a wave rider always been a yes man

    33. I dont get all the hate? It’s not like this nigga was a cop who used to search niggas asses for drugs he raps about selling….

      1. Everybody hates criminals and drug dealers, I have more respect for the cops who protect our society from criminals than I do scummy drug dealers.

    34. Think of how weird it would be if you were richer than your boss at work. Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck you, you’re cool, fuck you, You’re damn right I quit!!!!

    35. Take 27 emcee’s put them in a line and they’re out of alignment
my assignment since he said retirement
hiding behind 8 Mile and The Chronic
      Gets rich but dies rhyming
      This is High science
Now add 23 more from Queens to B-more
      I’ve over their heads
Like a bulimic on a seesaw
Now that’s 50 porch monkeys ate up at the same time
      Nasty Nasdaq
Y’all going to bow holmes, it’s Dow Jones

      I WON!

      1. NAS IS BROKE AND SOUR. HE WAS COOL WITH 50 UNTIL 50, THEY TOURED TOGETHER AND DID SONGS BUT 50 BECAME MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN HIM SO HE BECAME A CRAB NIGGA>

      1. Cam’ron won? how? that nigga aint got no release date or deal with a label.. he put hear selling capes and kicking bums in the nuts for $20 on tmz

    36. The haters are mad. They dont wanna hear this. They know 50 is coming back now for real to shit on their favorite fake ass rappers.

    37. LOOOOOOOL. CURTIS JUST KEEPS TAKING Ls. THE SCHOOLBOY Q ALBUM SNUB WAS THE LAST STRAW (ALBUM DELAY, DR DRE FT ON ROZAY’S ALBUM, NO CURTIS FEATURE ON MMLP2,GKMD AND OXYMORON). I BET YALL JIMMY IOVINE WAS LIKE THIS WHEN HE SAW THE 50 CENT FEATURE ON Qs ALBUM ” WTF IS THIS? TAKE THAT GARBAGE FEATURE OUTTA THE ALBUM”

LOL. YO 50 COULDNT TAKE IT ANYMORE. FIRST THEY DELAY HIS ALBUM NOW THIS? CURTIS IS LIKE FCUK THIS. IMMA GO SOLO AND SEE IF I CAN DO THE MACKLEMORE NUMBERS–>NOT!!! CURTIS TOO OLD. NOBODY LISTENING TO CURTIS IN 2014.

      YAAAAAAAAAHHHH

      CURLY DONE. FINISHED.

      1. How is this an L though? He got himself a better deal and got out of a bad situation. Jay-Z did the same shit. You said it yourself. Jimmy probably pulled him off Oxymoron, why would he want to be a part of a label thats not supporting him and doing their job if he can do it somewhere else?

      2. Yo deals like 50 did, didn’t come over night checks gotta get cleared and whatnot, lawyers and such Jimmy knew 50 was gone thats why he told schoolboy q to take him off the album because jimmy is in control. Now 50 is off Interscope he controls the situation. Its a win for 50, Jay did the same thing.

    38. its funny how people read a story then make up there own he didn’t get dropped he left and got a deal for his label that’s a win for any other rapper when jay-z did it they said he was smart but with fif motherfuckers go deaf dumb and blind

    39. Kendrick Lamar and Game have more in common than being from Compton. Both rappers are signed to Interscope Records and, according to Suge Knight’s latest interview, both are locked into “two of the worst deals in the industry.”

The always outspoken ex-music mogul shared his opinion on the subject of shady business deals during an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show Tuesday (Feb. 18). “If you look at Interscope, the two guys from Compton got two of the worst deals in the industry,” Knight said.

He went on to outline exactly how many benefactors get paid from Game’s label deal. “What people don’t realize is Universal [Music Group] is the ship, then Aftermath get they cut, then G-Unit get they cut, then the guy who really have Game signed [gets a cut] then it came to Game.”

In Lamar’s case, “the guy who put the deal together” gets a portion of the 26-year-old rapper’s earnings in addition to Interscope and other label-related payees, Knight claimed. “In reality [it’s] more slavery now than ever,” he continued. “When you was a slave you like ‘s–t it’s bad,’ but it’s worse when somebody makes you be a celebrity … and you’re thanking a person for like stabbing you in the back. Period.”

      1. Game isn’t signed to Interscope. His fullfilled his contract and they chose to not renew it because his albums lose money.

    40. Eminem: Yo Dre we pimped this little nigga so hard.
      Dr Dre: laughing very hard.
Eminem: this nigga careers is done. We cut the dead weight
Dr Dre: again laughing. Yeah Em this nigga Always thought he was a boss.
Eminem: Yo Dre we when we gonna search for a new dummy who we can pimp?
Dr Dre: hmmm yo Slim im now pimping that gay nigga Kendrick, ah fuck it lets find some new bitches

      1. Those singles all flopped and were pretty terrible. I actually liked the one with Jeezy and Snoop and the Kendrick one was better than most shit on the radio but the label didn’t push them at all… I can see why he decided to leave.

      2. uh no they all charted high on the charts higher than rick ross singles interscope just dropped the ball oh well good for him

    41. The reason 50 didn’t release a final album on Interscope, because he didn’t want to confirm his loss of marketability. An second album flop on Interscope, would have been confirmation and he wouldn’t have been able to get his current deal. He’s smart for doing that. Ole Jimmy Iovine was waiting for the flop and drop, but 50 outsmarted him….lol

    42. You gotta be a true hater to call this an L. He finally out from under Dre, Jimmy and Em and has more freedom to put out the music he wants to on his own terms.

      1. son they cant read or understand that fif just won again only 1 other artist I know that’s in the same situation and that’s jay-z.

    43. FOOLS wake up he is in full control can you read? indie with a major distributor means he aint going no where its just getting started.

      1. You can have money but still not have power, 50 is a perfect example but at least Em made a shitload of money off him.

    44. 50 JUST DID A POWER MOVE…RICK ROSS DOESNT OWN HIS OWN MUSIC.. YOU DUMB KIDS NEED TO UNDERSTAND… WHEN 50 DROPS HIS NEW ALBUM.. HE PROFITS EVERY DOLLAR… THATS SMART ASS DEAL FOR 50… I THINK HE KNOWS ITS GOING TO BE SMASH HIT ALBUM… MORE MONEY… TELL RICK ROSS TO OWN HIS MUSIC.. OH WAIT RICK ROSS DOESNT OWN SHIT.. HE A SLAVE… CAROLINE RECORDS DISTRIBUTE SLIP N SLIDE RECORDS WHICH RICK ROSS IS UNDER… HMMMM.. THEIR IS REASON WHY 50 MADE THIS MOVE.. HE TOO SMART!!!! 50 IS ABOUT TO MAKE A STATEMENT!!!

    45. fuckin props to 50. respect to EM and dre but this move makes me repsect fif more. theres too many reason to list y i like this move

      1. All those flopped singles killed his Interscope carrer.

How can you have Alicia Keyes, Adam Levine, Emineim, and Dr Dre on your singles and still flop?

      2. Simple…you can have the big name but if the LABEL AINT PROMOTING YOU……THAT’S THE PROBLEM IN 2014 LABELS DON’T PROMOTE YOU LIKE IN 2004..YOU ON YOUR OWN UNLES (HOV, WAYNE, KANYE,…

    46. I understand all the hate he gets. Shit I would hate this nigga too if he completely made a fool out of my favorite rapper and made them look like frauds, fakes and clowns.

      1. I can never take some of these rap niggas seriously after 50 got done embarrassing them. It unfortunate because I’m sure they got some okay music but I just laugh when I hear them talk.

      1. exactly he bought his contract out and now he setting up for record breaking album.. watch man.. he back… animal ambition is going to get people to buy the album..

    47. he needed to leave, so he could do him all the way , 50 fixin to get more money this way…why does he need interscope…the world already knows who he is..50 still a monster yall nickas hatin and he has more money than ross , lil wayne , drake and all the rest of your favorite rappers except jay z

    48. …HE SAID IT IN LAUGHING STRAIGHT TO THE BANK… WHEN I MADE 50 MILL EM GOT PAID.. WHEN I MADE 60 MILL DRE GOT PAID… WHEN I MADE 80 MILLION JIMMY GOT PAID!!!! TRUST ME 50 IS WAY SMARTER THAN YOUR BASIC RAPPER!!!

    49. glad he left, he belongs on Koch with Fat Joe, he ran up in Interscope offices and threw a fit because he couldn’t be on Schoolboy Q’s record so they reached an agreement to get rid of him.

      1. what did BWS win?

50 just got his own distribution deal with a label… Game is still unsigned and trying to get on Love and Hip-Hop and Keeping up with the Kardashians… BWS never got 1 release out before they folded.

      2. Game can sell more albums at this point, so yes he did win. 50 only as more money, because of that water deal and everyone knows that…………..even you 50 cent stans……lol

      3. Games last 2 albums aint sell 500k between them, 50 can sell more….

Black Wall Street is the name of a label started by game but he had to shut it down because he got sued for being so unoriginal. so he started rolex records which also got shut down for being un original.

      1. blackballed. he should have kissed asses and sucked dicks like ross but he a real street nigga so he says what he wants.

      1. Exactly ! .. glad to see someone recognizes that. You yourself will be successful in life for understanding what this means. independence is power. G-Unit and Shady/ Aftermath we built together .. had a good run.. a great one. But it’s time to move on .. No love lost though. This is what Men do.

CS Brand Apparel .. Spring 2014 .. “Things will never be the same”

    50. 50 singles didn’t flop it was just no album after that new day was his highest charted single overseas period in his entire career

    51. so why em didn’t do this? he don’t need jimmy or dre jimmy ran shady into the ground fif just became his own jimmy.

      1. Because Em makes hit records and he made millions off 50Cent.

Em is a boss, he had his worker 50 go out and get his money and bring it back to Daddy while Em concentrates on making hit singles and platinum albums.

      1. ross can never take back all that shit 50 done to him. everyone in rap was laughing at ross, even Game and Meek.

      2. 50 can never take back all the shit that Supreme did to him everybody in rap was laughing and when Meek and Game were done laughing they put Ross on their albums instead of 50 and all laughed at his career together.

      3. 50 had that niggas kids in Floyd Mayweather’s crib in Vegas WITH DIDDY and Ross did nothing about it. 50 and g-unit beat down Gunplay and put his MMG chain in a music video with Jeezy and Snoop and Ross did nothing. 50 put out a sextape of Ross childrens mother getting fucked by some other guy and Ross did nothing.

people will never forget Officer Ricky, that shit will live forever.

      4. Supreme had 50 shot 9 times in front of his own Grlandmothers house and he did nothing

Black Child stabbed 50 Cent in his guts and 50 did nothing.

Jimmy Henchmen murdered 50s friend and 50 did nothing.

50 Cent can babysit peoples kids like a Pedo or take peoples Babymamma shopping like a Trick but the fact that all that energy only made Officer Ricky a bigger artist will burn will live forever in the diseased heart of every Geek Unit Stan on the planet.

      5. Where all they all now? on the bottom while 50 on top

At the end of the day that nigga can look in the mirror and say he never put hand cuffs on one of his black brothers or locked them up in a prison cell, never made them bend off and cough while he fisted their assholes…. William cant say that.

      6. “Black Child stabbed 50 Cent in his guts and 50 did nothing.”

It was his hand, he said his baby momma cut him up worse.

    52. 50 spent his whole career sucking Jimmys dick and getting fucked in the ass by Em so after shelving his album for 5 years and getting treated like a hoe he finally got booted.

      1. keep making shit up. he made them a lot of money and they stopped supporting him so he left for greener pastures on his own terms.

    53. This lame 50 has been apologizing to Jimmy Iovine and praising Eminem his entire career, thats why Chelsea lately clowney him so hard and said he had little meat.

    54. G Unit records is straight garbage, the best rappers on that label were Game and Buck and they both ditched the label and dissed their former boss. Mobb Deep flopped, Olivia flopped, Scrappy flopped

      1. you do know 50 buck and tony are all going to get back together right? buck is cool with them…the word is 50 made sure he got G-unit in position because he wants to feed buck lloyd and yayo

    55. How are people hating on a distribution deal? When Jay-Z did it you all called it a power move but when 50 secures a deal you say he got dropped.

      1. 50 wouldn’t sign a slave deal. you know his lawyers made sure the paper was right. 50 on an indie label will make more than most of these top 40 major label artists.

    56. There’s been a rift with Eminem for about 5 years now. It’s been kept mostly behind closed doors but Em has dissed 50 on records just before Recovery.

      1. He didn’t, he’s still on a Major (UMG), just no label. Now I’m guessing he’s going to have to pay for his own shit but it’s not like he can’t afford it. Probably getting a bigger percentage too, like 40% instead of the 11% UMG gives most rappers.

    57. It was all good just a week ago I seen this blog on Twitter and thought it was fake.
This 50 guy threatened ro leak on of Dres songs off of Detox but Dre got the last laugh.

      1. no your too blind to see the money going into rick ross wallets… you do know rick ross rents his jewlery and cars right?? the brokest rapper appears to be “balling” yet the quietest rapper appear to be not “balling”

      2. Ross is broke, he bought all those WingStops with monopoly money and he bought that Mansion with counterfeit money he stole from Foxy Brown.

      3. he bought a mansion no one with money wanted because it was such a poor investment then he had to make up some excuse about opening it up for the kids so he could get a tax break on it LOL

      1. “he and G-Unit Records have signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG,”

    58. “you dont leave one graveyard for another”

MMG artists are eating good everyday. When was the last time you saw Lloyd Banks or Buck entering a five star restaurant… As patrons that is.

      1. I couldn’t tell you the last time i saw anyone entering a five star restaurant because I don’t wait tables there like you….

      2. MMG artists all have labels, or endorsements, or merchandise, and their own brands and companies because Rozay teaches them how to be their own bosses and not his flunkies.

50 failed to teach the artists on his label how to handle their own business which is why Tony Yayo is on Instagram crying and Young Buck is bankrupt while Game is trying to sign to Cash Money and LLoyd Banks is missing in action.

Egomaniacs are terrible bosses and their empires dont last.

      3. “MMG artists all have labels,”

we been through this, they have bum labels that will never see a dollar, signed to a nigga whos signed to a nigga whos signed to nigga. shit worked out great for lil snupe.

      4. “50 failed to teach the artists on his label how to handle their own business”

thats not his job hes not a teacher

      5. Lol, do your research next time before you say something outlandish like that. Tony Yayo has more money than any artist on MMG other than Rick Ross. Wale, Meek Mill, they’re worth $6 million and $2 million respectively. Tony Yayo is worth $7 million. The BAWSE at MMG is worth $25 million… wow, Lloyd Banks is worth $15 million and he hasn’t had a hit song in years.

Either way, none of these guys are hurting financially.

      6. “”MMG artists all have labels,”

we been through this, they have bum labels that will never see a dollar, signed to a nigga whos signed to a nigga whos signed to nigga. shit worked out great for lil snupe.”

^^^^Do you not understand what your own label means to an artist? When Meek release his next album it wont just be on MMG it will be on DreamChasers/MMG/Atlantic.

LLoyd Banks and Tony Yayo released 3 solo albums on GUnit/Interscope and never got to get the percentage they would have gotten of they release those albums on YayoENT/GUnit/Interscope or BanksENT/GUnit/Interscope.

Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo never even got a chance to get their percentages from Executive producing their own albums while they were on Interscope, Wale got Executive producer credits on his last album.

You want to have your own label imprint and your own publishing company or else you will end up bitter and disgruntled with a stalled career like Tony Yayo.

      7. “Do you not understand what your own label means to an artist? When Meek release his next album it wont just be on MMG it will be on DreamChasers/MMG/Atlantic.”

LOL thats the same shit ross stans were clowning 50 for, Aftermath,Shady G-Unit/ Interscope, whatever… it means nothing, its just a logo, Ross and Atlantic are taking everything

    59. ON AFTERMATH RECORDS BESIDES EMINEM NO OTHER ARTIST HAS HAD A BIGGER IMPACT ON THE GAME AND SOLD MORE RECORDS THAN 50. AFTERMATH HAS PUT MORE ARTISTS CAREER ON HOLD THAN THEY HAVE GOTTEN OFF THE GROUND:

      Antonio McLendon
      Bishop Lamont
      Brooklyn
      Busta Rhymes
      Dion
      Eve
      G.A.G.E.
      Game
      Hayes
      Hittman
      King Tee
      Joell Ortiz
      Marsha Ambrosius
      Raekwon
      Rakim
      RBX
      Slim the Mobster
      Stat Quo
      The Firm
      The Last Emperor
      Truth Hurts

      1. Every music label has a ton of artists that never make it big. It’s part of the business. You don’t hit a home run every at bat. Moron.

      1. They’re signed to Cash Money, signed to UMG. On some 360 deal shit, too. Good luck getting your royalties and residuals with them!

    60. Em is a Boss, he works half as hard as 50 but has almost the same amount of money because he was 50s boss. Em got his money and preserved his legacy by keeping 50 off his last two classics.

    61. This new deal been in the works for years, 50 even denied it once a year or 2 ago. Why you think Interscope stopped backing him?

    62. WHEN I MADE 50 MILLION EM GOT PAID. WHEN I MADE 60 MILLION DRE GOT PAID. WHEN I MADE 80 MILLION JIMMY GOT PAID. SAID I AINT EVEN GOT TO RAP LIFE IS MADE….HE A BOSSS!!

    63. Listen people, 50 did not get dropped, they just demoted him to a different department.

Interscope/Aftermath/Shady/GUNIT are all under Universal Music Group.

Caroline/Capital are also all under Universal Music group

The fundamental difference is that Caroline/Capital functions more within the prototypical mechanisms of a major label with them doing the bulk of promotions, management, marketing, and other duties that serve to aid an artists in all aspects of releasing an album.

Caroline/Capital will act as a distributor for GUnit to ship their product but all the footwork and groundwork will have to be done by GUnits personall staff.

Sure you get more % off your albums but you work harder and you will sell less, I guess the bonus for most artists is the creative control you get.

      1. yes correct that and 50 can now diss all these rappers.. i heard from people who listened to his new music that he disses everybody.. no one is safe. He put pic up on instagram saying “your favorite rapper right now is not safe”

    64. “em has no where near as much”

I’m sure Eminem’s content with 100 mill in the bank, and the knowledge he could take the next five years off, come back and still go 2x platinum.

    65. “It was his hand, he said his baby momma cut him up worse”

He still stabbed him. Why didn’t 50 settle the score? Answer… He was scared.

      1. pretty sure black child took a few slugs, that nigga is living in the projects broke and on welfare, theres no score to settle,

    66. “everyone in rap was laughing at ross, even Game and Meek”

Everyone’s working with Ross while nobody wants to work with 50, and even when they do, the song doesn’t make the final cut. That’s quite a fall. When Ross hangs it up it will be because he wants to.

      1. Nobody wants 50 Cent on their CD, he is a Multi-million selling internationally known rapper but if I was one of the giants like JayZ, Wayne, Drake, Nas, or one of those guys I wouldnt want hi m anywhere near my album.

      2. 50 might be cool for a remix to expand your fanbase in for pop music listeners but hell no you dont want him on your CD.

    67. “You cant compare this to fat joe’s deal. 50 wouldn’t leave the majors”

Does Fat Joe even have a deal? Hip hop is suffering.

    68. damn he got a good deal too bad game gotta suck rappers nutts to get his music out got a cash money chain and he not even on the label was shouting out cash money beore the red album dropped he just a wave rider always been a yes man!!!

    69. 50 is dirty piece of crap, he sold drugs to pregnant women and destroyed lives just so he could buy nice pairs of sneakers and fancy coats. I hope he rots in hell with that doosh bag that sold the drugs that killed Seymour Hoffman.

    70. HOLD UP lmao you fools trollin or you just cant read and understand shit he is indie artist now,he did not get dropped AND got a WORLDWIDE distribution DEAL for himself and G-UNIT RECORDS he HAS NO BOSS JIMMY IS NO LONGER ARROUND TRYING TO GET HIM TO DO CLUB SINGLES like fif didn’t support that girls gone wild that jimmy wanted him to do ahah 50 PIMPED interscope to the very end.He was not looking to get under another rappers label(see game) anybody can have a label(20 bucks for paper work) but can you fund a indie label and get a distribution deal 50 just shitted on the game im ready to that reckless fif again.

    71. Nigga nigga nigga nigga got them niggas with niggas who niggas look like niggas but them niggas don’t act like them niggas so niggas be swearing in niggas lives that they kill niggas

    72. Jimmy, Dre and Em have pimped out their employee long enough, they dont need him anymore or his dead label because they have J. Cole who is actually talented and gifted.

    73. I bet this is 50’s publicity stunt to get his album rolling. He knew he’d fuck the world up if he left Em and Dre’s nest (like he was ever there since ’03.) He doesn’t really need them anyway, he can easily buy some Dre beats and Em verses. This shall be interesting to see if it actually was the label delaying his album or if it’s just 50 to blame.

    74. That XXL cover was hilarious because if we go back to 50 Cents beginnings they had the same cover with Em, 50 and Dre, but they kicked 50 off the new cover and added Jimmy and kicked 50 off Interscope and added Jermaine.

      1. he said fuck you guys I’m gonna be my own boss, I’m not taking orders from a 60 year old jew rock producer anymore who knows nothing about the hip-hop or the culture. he doing his own thing like jay-z and birdman. i wish him all the best

      2. Yeah right, dude wants to be his own Boss at the age of 40 and at the end of his career?
Why didnt he make this move when he was actually Hot and had relevant artists on his label?

      3. You’re wasting your time trying to convince the G-Unit Stans here as apparently they live in a parallel universe where the sun rises and sets around 50. Things like the obvious truth and facts don’t matter to them as 50 is the be-all, end-all of their existence. On the real 50 is relevant as a business person but as a rapper no one is really feeling him anymore for the most part except the Stanatics. Nonetheless I wish 50 the best of luck whenever his album gets released and that Interscope doesn’t keep pushing it back till christmas 2017.

      4. “Nonetheless I wish 50 the best of luck whenever his album gets released and that Interscope doesn’t keep pushing it back till christmas 2017.”

These losers don’t even read the articles, they just copy and paste the same old comments…. How is Interscope gonna keep pushing his album back if this article is about HIM LEAVING INTERSCOPE, shit dude think before you paste.

    75. Get rich or die trying = 8 million (2003)
      The Massacere = 5 million
      Curtis = 1 million
      Before I Self Destruct = 475,000 (2009)

The buffoon lost over 7.5 million fans in 7 years, each year of his career he lost millions of fans.

Every album that 50cent dropped sold HALF or worse than half of what the one sold previous.

No artist in the history of rap music has fallen off harder, his G-Unit records is virtually dead and he hasn’t released an album in 5 years while his enemy Game who helped dismantle his label and damage his career is dropping albums every year.

      GAME WON!

      1. Documentary – 4 million
        Doctors Advocate – 2 million
        LAX – 1.1. million
        R.E.D. Album – 206k
        Jesus Piece – 296k

DAMN HOMIE IT LOOKS LIKE GAME WAS MOST SUCCESFUL WHEN 50 PUT HIM AND AND WAS WRITING HIS SONGS. 50 MADE THAT NIGGA NOW HE HANGING OUT WITH KHLOE KARDASHIAN TRYING TO GET A SPOT ON REALITY TV CAUSE NO LABELS WANT HIM!

      2. Game’s interscope deal ended and they didn’t re sign him because they lose money on everything he does. Now he’s label less despite starting like 4 different labels over the years and never getting out 1 single release (Black Wall Street, Rolex Records, The Firm Records, Blood Money Entertainment)

JAYCEON BETTER HOPE HE GETS A SPOT ON LOVE AND HIP HOP L.A.

P.S. I CANT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I SAW GAME ON A FORBES LIST

      3. ever heard of main stream rap music?? notice how the majority of them suck to people that actually know music? lol 50 cent is clearly untalented but he makes so much much money because all of his fans are retarded and brainwashed by the mainstream media…he doesnt give a fuk about his fans lol… all the fans are doing is supplying his pocket with cash that he always raps and yaps about… Game on the other hand he never changed he was hungry when he sold over 10 mill and still is…

      4. Are you saying Game is somehow not mainstream rap music? have you looked at the tracklisting on his last 2 albums? he got like 35 features from every current rapper with a buzz and he just jacks their flow… GAME is the definition of a pop rapper.

      5. Newsflash nigga, Game NEVER SOLD “over 10 million”! And if he’s anywhere close to that it’s only because his first G-Unit album with 50 on it did 5 million!!!!!

    76. One of the reasons I like him is because he did it his own way and not on the backs of other people.. He doesnt feel he has to be friends with people that he doesnt really like and i admire that about him .. So many people in rap fake like they’re friends for the sake of makin money i hate that shit ..Everybody rides each other’s jockstrap so much its sickening .. He was like Fuck that even if it wont benefit me much financially or career wise imma do my own thing and keep it 100.

    77. The Ross beef showed the world how weak 50Cent is in the streets and how little influence he has on street music.

If you are one of the FOOLS that think Ross is a fat fraud policeman then ask yourself why your boy 50 failed at destroying his career or making him less popular. Ross had two Gold albums before the beef and another two Gold albums after the beef while 50 hasnt released a single album.

      BAWSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. Ross had Jay-Z and Diddy and the labels in his corner as well as Drake and Lil Wayne keeping him alive. He never could have survived without them and you know it. Niggas got tired of being bullied and had to form come together on some megatron shit and the nigga still cant go plat despite all his hype.

      2. Ross stayed above water by sucking dicks and kissing ass.

hip-hop is fucked up when so many people will stand beside a known fraudulent liar who used to lock niggas up for a living.

      3. *Nerd Alert*

LOLOL, guy makes it sound like superheroes in a comic book conspired to save some rapper from a super villain. LOLOL, you must be smoking dust.

Of course Def Jam is in the corner of their artists…thats what they are supposed to do untill you stop selling records,

JayZ and LiL Wayne were on Ross albums before his beef with 50

Drake goes where Wayne goes and Diddy goes wherever a buzz is at.

    78. At this point this nigga 50 Cent needs to release that dreaded “Street King Immortal” album or make it a mixtape. shit is getting embarrasing for him. he hasn’t dropped a studio album in nearly 5 years. and please don’t mention his mixtapes, those are scrapped songs that wouldn’t even sell 100k copies.

    79. “@Anonymous:
Nobody believes those lies. Those little labels are nothing more than a tax write-off, nothing more.”

LOL, what an idiot, this kid doesent even understand how album points are distributed and why his friend
50 gets a cut for every record an artist releases on GUNIT Records including his own.

So since having a label is just a tax write-off then tell your friend 50 to release his next album solely on Caroline/Capital/UMG without GUNIT so that Caroline/Capital/UMG label get a higher percentage of the royalties.

      1. You obviously have no idea what a tax write-off means. This “label” is nothing more than a front for Meek’s bum friends.

      2. No point in arguing with homie but he will see soon enough. Dream Chasers Records will never amount to shit…

Think of all the rappers more successful than Meek Mill and Wale, even legendary veteran rappers who tried and failed to get labels off the ground… platinum selling artists with classic albums…. (now he’s gonna say Rozay gave them the blueprint blah blah blah)

Sorry to say this but if you ain’t on the Forbes list you have no business starting or running a record label. If you don’t have 1 gold album or even a platinum single you have no business owning a record label and can’t really do much for other artists unless you gonna keep it local….

      3. You get percentage points when you release an album on your own imprint the paperwork is tricky but imagine a split like this:

        (Universal/Interscope/Aftermath/Shady/GUnit)

        40% Universal
        25% Interscope
        20% Aftermath
        10% Shady
        5% G Unit

        Now look at this math:

        (Caroline/Capital/UMG/GUNIT)

        40% GUNIT
        30% UMG
        20% Capital
        10% Caroline

Jimmy Iovine just gave J. Cole a distribution deal for his Dreamville label so he can get his Boss on and get a bigger share of what a Boss deserves. Sure he will sign/hire some friends but that’s what you supposed to do when you get in position.

      4. Nigga stop talking about business shit you not apart of the industry and never will be you old ass crab.

Meek won’t be seeing a percentage of shit because he’s not gonna get 1 album released on that struggle label.

      5. The cool thing about owning your own own shit is more than just the cut you get but also the perks that come with being a CEO and having an LLC. Credit lines, tax breaks, all that good ish.

      6. Anyone can call themself a CEO, thats why theres more black CEO’s in America than any other race, but most of them dont earn a dollar, LOL

    80. King Em sits on his throne and tells his Black slave to go get his money, thats the difference between the Boss and the worker.

      1. Now his best black slave has been set free but he still has Slaughterhouse and a couple token white slaves to put to work but they’re never be as good as fiddy.

      2. “Ross stayed above water by sucking dicks and kissing ass.

hip-hop is fucked up when so many people will stand beside a known fraudulent liar who used to lock niggas up for a living”

Looks like 50Cent cant get anybody to stand next to him, not Banks, not Yayo, not Em, not Jimmy, not Dre or anybody that actually knows him like they do.

    81. Some of these haters are gonna be having dreams about 50 tonight they’ve been spending so much time commenting on here… HAHAHAH

    82. The normal people that dislike things simply ignore those things but weird people have to bitch and moan like whores about every little thing they dislike.

The mentally disturbed people spend all day long hating on artists they don’t like and having endless arguments with their fans about who’s better.

      1. If you look thru these comments you will see a lot of sad and lonely people. Most of them just happen to be Rick Ross and Game fans to seems from their comments.

      2. Drop a link and show us how “normal” you are because we dont believe G Unit has any “normal” fans, especially YOU.

      3. Why are Ross groupies so obsessed with what dudes look like? Fags. And why do they always say “We” like they speak for other people?

      4. Why are 50 groupies so obsessed with buttcracks and assholes, Fags, and why is it so easy to torture them when you mention “looks”.

      5. No one was even talking about buttcracks and assholes besides you Ross groupies and no one’s being tortured, you’re just a faggot for wanting to see another dude’s face.

      6. The faggot 50 male Stans are too ashamed to have any profile that shows the world who they are because they are all gay faggots who Stan for the rapper with the most muscle mass. No Homo.

      7. This coming from a faggot Ross stan who won’t show his identity to the world. If anyone’s a gay faggot, it’s you, Ross dicksucker.

      8. Gay guy wants to hold a conversation, I just talk around him like he is what he truly is. The guy is sad
inside because his hero Fiddy is the only rapper in history to sell 8 million copies and still dropping Mixtapes to get a buzz.

      9. I don’t even like 50, I just like to make idiots like you look even more dumb than you already are. Besides, you’re the gay one wanting to hold a convo. Besides, you’re just pissed off that your hero, Ross, has no buzz for his upcoming album and has to rely on a ton of features.

      10. Ross fans are black nerds who come onto 50 cent articles looking for conversations because they are so lonely… shit just look at these comments above

    83. JayZ is around 40, I wonder if hes gonna go Indie?
Naw, Jay can still drop platinum albums on Roc Nation.
Homie waited untill the end of his career to go Indie.

    84. “Anyone can call themself a CEO, thats why theres more black CEO’s in America than any other race, but most of them dont earn a dollar, LOL”

Anybody can call themself an astronaut. Without an incorporated or company you are not a CEO.

    85. Camron is the truth and he is the reason why Curtis fell off so hard, just go watch the Curtis videos were
50 Cent is wearing a gorilla costume and snitching on niggas. Snitch ass nigga tried to break up Dipset and GUNOT got broke up instead!!

      1. The second video was funny as shit when they had Five-o dressed up as a police gorilla and them bums was singing around the fire, they ended that boys career with two videos.

      2. Well looks like French Montana is still signed to Interscope now the 50 hater is back where he was before Emenim saved his black butt.

      3. How many album you think french will get out after doing 150k total? Shitt Curtis worst album outsold him by like 4 times.

    86. Camron dropped 2 albums on Epic, then he dropped 2 albums on Roc a Fella and then he dropped 2 albums on Diplomat/Asylum records but Cam aint no hater so Vado and Juelz are still cool with him.
Jim Jones has dropped more albums that 50 has. The Dipset reunion is in the works and Cam and Jimmy are back in the studio so show your support to real New York HipHop from a real group that has Love for each other instead of beef.

    87. We trained the 50 Stan to use the word “groupie” because he used to say dickrider every 5 minutes but we teased him about talking about dick so we trained him to use “groupie instead.

      1. “He normally talks about asscracks and getting his bootyhole searched, he got some wild fantasies.”

I think thats usually in reference to rick ross former duties when he was a crack searching C.O.

    88. The lonely Ross stan is so obsessed with homo shit. Anytime someone says dick, butt, crack, or any other related words, he instantly thinks gay shit.

    89. Huh, believe me hoe, you can’t G me though
Jimmy ain’t the president, he the CEO
Zeke is the president, it’s evident, he’ll cock and spray

50 Stans madder than a mutthafucka because their Rap Hero been pushed back for 5 years while Dipset drop albums at will. Snitch ass nigga ratted on Mcgritff

      1. Homie this snitch career ended as soon as Camron dropped the Curtis video, the streets fuck with Camron and Dipset heavy, the only people that still fuck with this snitch 50 is white people who listen to Emenem.

      1. Are the the 50 Stan who calls everybody a groupie or the other retard that Stans for 50, I cant tell you losers apart.

    90. Fuck Fifty, the nicca dont fuck with Tony Yayo after Tony was his loyal soldier so fuck this nigga and his wack ass music.

    91. Pretty much went from one big corporation to another. Don’t know if he will accomplish much there either. Would have thought with his big name and something of a fanbase (like him or hate him, he still is a household name)he could have just put out a CD himself and posted it on a website. Simple, cut out all the industry people who want a piece of the action. Dude is paid so he could put together a home studio and hire a decent sound engineer. What is 50 afraid of?

      1. A distribution deal is a legal agreement between one party and another, to handle distribution of a product.

Recording contract-A recording contract (commonly called a record deal) is a legal agreement between a record label and a recording artist (or group), where the artist makes a record (or series of records) for the label to sell and promote. Artists under contract are normally only allowed to record for that label exclusively; guest appearances on other artists’ records will carry a notice “By courtesy of (the name of the label)”, and that label may receive a percentage of sales.

    92. Look at what they did to me, they burn me, they turn me
Into a animal, they flipped son, they burn me
To the first degree, me son, they hurt me
I looked out for them motherfuckers, they burn me

Sugar turned to shit, people just change
They keep pushin a nigga ’til the hammer go BANG
You violate I will let that motherfucker rang
Feels like, money came then, more money came

      [50 Cent]

Somebody new tryin to sue me
So they burn me (after all I’ve done)
      So they burn me
(Seems like I can’t find a friend, every time they burn)

    93. Curtis 50 Cent Jackson spent much of his early life yearning for a record deal with one of the major labels. After a run with Universal-backed Interscope that began in 2003 and saw him sell over 30 million albums, hes spent much of the past few years itching to leave.

Yesterday, he got his wish: hes departing the label that launched his career to forge ahead as an independent artist. He has signed a worldwide distribution deal with Caroline/Capitol/UMG for G-Unit Records and his own releases, beginning with Animal Ambition, due out on June 3rd.

Its freedom to invest in your own ideas, he told FORBES in his first interview since the news broke. If ever I had a horse that I was betting on at the track, Id like to be the horse. Let it be me, goddammit, because Im going to run as hard as I can.

He says his deal is structured similarly to Cash Moneys arrangement, which in which Bryan Birdman Williams label doles out a mere 7% of wholesale per album to Universal in exchange for distribution and support.

In conjunction with Eminems Shady Records and Dr. Dres Aftermath label, Interscope will continue to release and market 50s lucrative back catalogue, including his 2003 multiplatinum opus, Get Rich or Die Tryin.

50 Cent is, and always will be, a marquee artist for us, said Steve Berman, Vice Chairman of Interscope/Geffen/A&M, in a press release. We respect his decision to pursue this new venture and the next chapter in his career, and wish him nothing but the best. He will always be a part of our family.

The timing of 50s split with Interscope comes as a bit of a surprise, given that he still owed the label another album. Artists rarely get out of their deals early without paying some sort of feefive years ago, Jay Z famously bought back the last album he owed Universal for $5 million (and later sold it for $10 million)but 50 says he didnt have to fork over any cash.

Im a special case and situation, he explains. Its also because of the leverage of having the strong relationships with Eminem and Dr. Dre. They dont want to me to be uncomfortable. They value our friendship to the point that they would never want [to jeopardize] it over that little bit of money.

Added Eminem, in a statement: Ive developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and thats not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit.

Of course, another big reason the split between 50 Cent and Shady/Aftermath/Interscope has been amicable is that all the labels involved have the same parent company (If it wasnt all under the Universal umbrella, it wouldnt work, 50 admits).

The move gives 50 greater flexibility to pursue the sort of unusual release tactics employed by some of his peers latelyfor example, Jay Zs agreement to release his last album via a Samsung mobile app in exchange for a guarantee that the company would buy 1 million copies at $5 apiece.

It also allows 50 to dictate his own schedule for recording and releasing music videos. The latest example: he was able to offer FORBES the opportunity to debut the video for Funeral below.

Its having the ability to do that versus, Its out of the question, he says. Now those options have opened up.

      1. The Real Bosses like JayZ, Em, Luda, T.I., Ross, Wayne, Tech, Kanye and Diddy dont go through mess like this because they are bosses and not slaves.

      2. Yeah he added Ross to that list of Bosses, Ross has a successful label that have dropped
12 major label LP/EPs in the last 5 years while most rappers cant even get a release date.
Show me another Boss in the rap game with that productivity over the last 5 years.

      3. “Ross has a successful label that have dropped
12 major label LP/EPs in the last 5 years”

And they all flopped, you can’t call that label successful.

      4. “You can win the lottery and make millions but that dont make you a Boss especially when you have no employees.”

He has lots of employees. Probably more than William. SMS Promotions, his fighters, SMS Audio, ThisIs50.com, SK Energy, Cheetah Vision Films…. all companies that require employees.

      5. White boys don’t fuck with this snitch either. This dude did a show in Maine, at a local club and couldn’t sell 30 tickets. Maine is the whitest market in the country.

    94. Nas Ethered this clown on “Queens Get the Money”, Nas will drop another classic while this lame drops another weed plate.

      1. 50 hurt Nas feelings when he told the world that nas was a geek who liked to read books when they were on tour together. Nas became jealous when 50 became more successful than he ever was after 1 album.

      1. 50 Cent announced today (February 20) that he and G-Unit Records have signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG,

    95. “he is a Multi-million selling internationally known rapper”

Correction. He was a multi million selling rapper. Now he’s just another bum searching for a deal.

    96. “pretty sure black child took a few slugs, that nigga is living in the projects broke and on welfare, theres no score to settle”

Slugs from who? lol Regardless of BC’s current situation, still doesn’t change the fact 50 got handled, and didn’t do a thing about it.

      1. 50 still has more money and a bigger acting career as well as a new show on Starz network called POWER. ja last movie flopped and had no names in it. 50 in movies with Stalone and Schwarzenegger.

    97. “you keep ignoring the fact that this article mentions his new deal”

One problem. There is no more G Unit lol This new deal, whatever it is, won’t pay him like Interscope did for the simple fact he can’t push units anymore.

      1. but it will pay HIM better, no one buying a tony yayo or lloyd banks album in 2014 anyway, g-unit the crew been dead for years but the label will live on

    98. “50 Cent announced today (February 20) that he and G-Unit Records have signed an exclusive worldwide distribution and services agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG”

Banks isn’t with G Unit anymore. Neither is Buck, and by the sound of it, Yayo isn’t either. That worldwide distribution definately won’t be a problem cause nothing’s coming out lol

    99. They booted him out of the NBA to play for a D Leauge team.

No artist with self respect will ever sign to G Unit again, its over and Game WON!!

      1. whos game signed too?

didn’t he also get booted out of the NBA and hasnt been picked up by any league so to say! his finished his contract and they didn’t want him anymore. must have been losing them money.

    100. I earned a lot of respect for Em and Dre when they both went and did songs with Wayne and Ross had beef with them and Jimmy Iovine earned my respect when he made that deal with Diddy while 50 had beef with him. You have to treat your workers like a worker.

    101. Curtis Jackson is a cruel and vicious woman beater, he has a history of violence towards women and he has publicly attacked LiL Kim, Mya, and Ashanti,if you love your Mum and sisters then dont support this choad or the chums he befriends.

      1. Ahh shut up will ya?
That feminist bullshit was cute back in the 90s, it’s done, noone cares, religions are against you, athiests despise you, politics is sick of you, and men are done with you.

So just suck a fat one and shut up

    102. 50 cent says he has been hoping to drop from the best rap label ever I think it’s the other way around they were sick of him making no money that’s why they allowed a release while owing an album he wouldnt have made the money back. Anyone who says Aftermath/Shady is dying you must be a youngin that dont know what you’re talking about. Dre produced tupac, snoop and em so please sit back relax kids. Also get off this new weak crap you all think is so “hard” its just run around lines to confuse your small brains.
