4Batz and Drake’s “Act II: Date @ 8″ has topped the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart ending a year long reign by SZA.

Over the last year, she has been number one with “Kill Bill,” “Snooze,” “Saturn.” and through a feature on Drizzy’s “Slime You Out” but the Top Dawg Entertainment singer has been usurped by 4Batz.

The original version of “Act II: Date @ 8” debuted on the chart in early January before Drake jumped on a remix which was released on March 8.

It is of course 4Batz’s first time topping the chart while Drake has reached the summit for a ninth time.

Despite reaching the top of the charts, the Drake remix has received a mixed response from fans.

“This is the first time I can say Drake ruined a track,” one underwhelmed listener boldly declared, while someone else wrote: “Truthfully drake wasn’t meant for this song.”

Others said they wanted to hear SZA or Brent Faiyaz on the remix instead.

The song has also peaked in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 1o0 marking a fast rise for 4Batz who was unheard of before December when his debut track quickly went viral.

It was recently announced that 4Batz had signed a short-term contract to Drake’s OVO Sound for the release of his first EP.

Though Drake and 4Batz refused to comment on the deal, the remix was released through OVO Sound.

4Batz’s lawyer also commented on the deal: “The positive energy and overall support from Team Drake/OVO was a driving factor in getting this song released. We are grateful for their involvement and are excited to see what the future holds as a result of this epic creative and business move.”
