On January 15th Step’N Up Productions and Xenon Pictures will be releasing a 2Pac documentary called “Before I Wake.” The documentary will describe in detail the final year of Pac’s life and his death itself, the story will be told by his personal bodyguard. Frank Alexander rarely left 2Pac’s side in his final year and knows virtually everything that went on in his life in that time period. Accompanying Alexander’s story is never seen before studio footage and pictures alike.
The film will also feature many guest appearances by rappers and other celebrities who speak from their hearts about the legend. The DVD/VHS has met the approval of 2Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Frank said of that situation, “No one can judge me but God. Tupac’s mother Afeni doesn’t blame me for Tupac’s death. I’m not trying to profit from Tupac’s death. I want people to know what really happened during the last year of his life. This film does that.”
This film is in addition to another documentary in the works that is about the lives and deaths of both 2Pac and Biggie. No word as to when that will come out.
