Grammy Award-winning singer Amy Winehouse received a “caution” for assault and was released without any charges on Saturday (April 26).

The singer spent the night in custody, according to the LA Times.

Winehouse was initially taken into custody after a man said he was assaulted in the early hours of Wednesday in north London, and the singer presented herself at a police station in London for questioning.

Winehouse admitted she had slapped a man with her open hand.

Amy was fully co-operative with inquiries and apologized for the incident,” said her spokesman in  a statement.

She thanks the police for their professional handling of the matter,” added the spokesman.

The statement also revealed that the singer is working on recording new music, and is working on the theme song for the new James Bond film.
