Filipino record label Morobeats revealed the reason for their signature one-take visual style.
The independent label posted a short statement on Facebook, accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage of their latest video for Bulabog Ng Morobeats’ “INDIBIDWAL.”
Morobeats videos are often shot along sidewalks in busy streets, with the rappers walking and rapping towards the camera. They explained that the reason behind their style is that they want to compare and demonstrate the growth of their artists’ rap styles over different years.

Moreover, because a majority of their rappers write songs about the everyday Filipino experience, they want their music videos to reflect reality as closely as possible instead of featuring “cars, women, and other luxurious things in life.”

Madami nag tatanong bakit halos laging one take ang aming mga MV at may mga nag rereklamo din na nakakaumay ang laging naglalakad na MV.
Pero ang tunay na rason ay kaya laging naglalakad ang mga MV namin dahil ihinahambing at minamanipesto namin ang usad ng bawat artist namin sa kanilang mga karera at sa one take videos naman ay yung natural na itsura at kaganapan ng music video kami nkaa base dahil wala naman kaming maipagmamalaki na magagarang Kotse,Babae at kung ano anong palamuti sa tunay na buhay.
Kaya minabuti namin na maging malapit sa reyalidad ng buhay at maabot namin ang mga katulad din namin na nakkaaintindi sa aming mga nais iparating
Maraming salamat sa mga tumatangkilik sa aming mga obra.
(Translation: Many have been asking why almost all of our music videos are [shot with] one take, and some have complained that the music video style is getting repetitive.
However, the real reason why our music videos are always shot with one-take [and with the artists walking towards the camera] is because we compare and demonstrate the progress of the career of each our artists, and one-take videos are the most natural [and realistic,] which is what we like to base our videos on since we don’t have cars, women, or other luxury items to brag about even in real life.
That’s why we make sure that [our music videos] are as close to real life as possible, and so that we can reach those who are just like us and what we want to convey.
