Sik-K and JAY B are no longer with H1GHR Music.

The South Korean label announced today on social media that two of their high-profile signees did not renew their contracts. “Our contracts with Sik-K and JAY B have expired and we have agreed that it is best to continue their careers on a different path. We will always support them as family forever,” the statement read.

The two are part of an upcoming release, “BRB,” which lists H1GHR Music co-founder Cha Cha Malone and former CEO Jay Park, as well as BIG Naughty, and pH-1. The release will be out on July 27.

The news came as a surprise to many social media users. JAY B joined the label last year during his group GOT7’s hiatus and released his solo debut EP, SOMO:FUME. Following Sik-K’s participation in Show Me The Money 4 in 2015, he started releasing music under H1GHR Music in 2017, including five EPs: BOYCOLD and H.A.L.F (Have.A.Little.Fun) (2017), TRAPART (2018), S.O.S (Sink Or Swim) (2019), Officially OG (2020); and two full-length albums FL1P (2019) and Headliner (2020).

Shortly after H1GHR Music’s announcement, CDNZA Records took to Twitter to welcome JAY B to their label. “Welcome to CDNZA Records’ new family, JAYB! Please look forward to CDNZA Records and JAYB’s various activities,” they wrote.

Last month, Sik-K released TELL YA!, DARLING short film, featuring Crush). In May, JAY B reunited with his fellow GOT7 members after a nearly two-year hiatus and released their latest self-titled EP.
