Filipino artists are coming together this weekend for a solidarity concert and artists’ fair to support workers in the agricultural industry. Dubbed ‘AgriKultura’ (directly translated to ‘agriculture’), the event will take place on April 23, 2022 (Saturday), at 1:00 PM, at Picked Cafe & Gallery, Tunasan, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.

The event will begin with a screening of a remastered version of Sa Ngalan ng Tubo, a short documentary by Tudla Productions about the 2004 Hacienda Luisita Massacre, which saw the “violent dispersal of the strike of Hacienda Luisita farmworkers on Nov. 16 that led to the death of 14 farmers including women and children and the wounding of 200 others,” according to Bulatlat.

It will be followed by performances from Past Forward, switchbitch, Barricade, Mocksmile, Limbs, No Way Out, Asoge, JK-ULTRA, ahju$$i, and Promote Violence.

Filipino hip hop duo switchbitch’s Lalamunan EP was hailed as one of HipHopDX Asia’s 20 Best Albums of 2021, citing its “brutal honesty that compels critical assessment as much as it does engagement.”

The event is organized by Artista ng Rebolusyong Pangkultura (ARPAK) and Artists for Anakpawis. Instead of charging a set fee, the organizers encourage a “pay-what-you-can” scheme for attendees.
