1096 Gang member Guddhist Gunatita celebrates his birthday with a hopeful new single “GUDDS.”
The laidback track sees the Filipino rapper reflecting on the absurdity of making it through the worst in life. While Guddhist Gunatita’s work is often characterized by cautious optimism, “GUDDS” feels more liberated. For him, the feat of survival is all the more a cause of celebration, to be buoyed by humor and good-natured fun. “Naalala ko pa dati trahedyang malupit / Nakuha kong tawanan kahit na masakit,” (I remember when I went through the cruelest tragedies / I still found it in me to laugh even when it hurt), he raps.
