SARAN made some clarifications about the source of the beat for “Money Bag,” his latest single with fellow D!E OUT member 2K off their debut album DIEOUT WE RUNNING.

In the teaser video, SARAN preemptively offered context on the beat, which was credited to be produced by 7DaysAWeek. He wrote in Thai, “I bought this beat from overseas. Bought everything legally. At first, I tried to make a new one, but I felt it wasn’t quite there yet, so I used this beat. At first, I didn’t know that the beginning of the song was Billie’s voice, but I talked to the beat maker. He said that it’s just a sample only. Finally, if it’s copyrighted or can’t open income, I’m chilling. This song doesn’t have high expectations, more as a response to one’s own emotions.”

Audio-identifying app Shazam recognized the beat as “Mind Of Stone” by producer SAINTVIC* which was released in July this year.

SARAN’s comment prompted support from fans, with one YouTube user writing, “Not bad still got your style bro.”

It’s not clear what prompted the clarification. A few weeks ago, his collaborator YOUNGGU received criticisms from fans citing that his track “On Hut” sounds eerily similar to CJ’s viral hit, “Whoopty,” which, in fact, shares the same producer.

“Money Bag” marks the first collaboration between 19-year-old SARAN and 14-year-old 2K as a duo. Directed by 126 REDEYE, the video follows the two enjoying the excesses of fame, wealth, and youth.
