Anik Khan shares “Santa Maria,” the first single off his upcoming Approved EP, out next month via EMPIRE.

The Latin music-inspired track was produced by Simen Sez. It was released with an accompanying music video directed by Chris Scholar, seeing the Bengali-American rapper searching for “Santa Maria,” which translates to Saint Mary. Upon the release, Khan shared on Instagram that he’s “heading to the UK to PERFORM for the first time in my life.”

The Queens-based rapper and singer previously released his DeniedEP on July 23, the first half of Denied/Approved. The two-part EP “explores Khan’s life as an artist and immigrant in the U.S without legal citizenship.” The 7-track Denied includes features from Robin Dev, Xavier Omär, Haile Supreme, and DJ LYAN. In the music video description, Khan shared that Approved will feature Bas, Cozz, Sango, ClickNPress, DJ Komari, and more.

Anik Khan made his official debut in 2015 with I Don’t Know Yet EP and has worked with the likes of Jarreau Vandal and has gained co-signs from Elton John and more. He described his music as “hip hop that likes to travel” and inspired by his immigrant roots and inner-city upbringing.
