It’s been a long time coming. Vietnamese hip hop star Suboi dropped NO-NÊ on Thursday, July 15, her first album since 2014’s Run and first full-length release under her own music label, Suboi Entertainment Music.

The 10-track record includes her hit singles, “N-Sao,” “Bet On Me,” and “Cho Không,” as well as pre-release track, “Sickerrr” and notably no features. True to Suboi’s enduring ethos through the years, the album opens with a dedication to all Vietnamese women. To celebrate the release, an accompanying album visualizer premiered on the same day.

NO-NÊ documents Suboi’s “journey of change” in nearly a decade of making music and taking stock in her connections and relationships more than material things. “Giving up what was ‘known’… I just live,” she wrote in Vietnamese.

The Rap Viet judge made the surprise announcement on June 20, sharing that NO-NÊ was written during a “transitional time” and clued fans in about the album title, which is read in English as “none” but is actually the Vietnamese word for “full.”
