Sometimes Hip Hop can move at a pace too frantic for even the most devoted fan to keep up with. Albums and mixtapes are released at breakneck speed, careers are made and broken with the swipe of a pen, and somewhere in between all the madness actual music (the quality of which vacillates between excellent and god awful) is being made. Twitter provides a nice summary of everything 140 characters at a time. And if you’re the type that would rather not be bothered with stepping into the Twitterverse to catch up on the latest in Hip Hop, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s tweets and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.
This week, Wiz Khalifa found his own purple swag, Flying Lotus told the back story behind Never Catch Me, and Ludacris remixes Tuesday.

This is why we can’t have nice things, Reddit.

Tyler The Creator Needs Female Singers
Is Twitter the new job search engine? Tyler The Creator recently tweeted that he is seeking female singers, preferably the ones who can hit notes like the gospel singers can. If you didn’t know, SWV is an American female R&B trio, and RAMP was a American Jazz/Soul band. It’s okay, I didn’t know either. The post written in all caps hints at sense of urgency, but we don’t think Yolanda Adams has any plans to team up with the OFWGKTA captain any time soon.
Kanye West Praises John Galliano’s Return
A tweet from Kanye?! Mr. West expresses his excitement as John Galliano reclaims his title as creative director of Maison Martin Margiela. John Galliano is a designer who was shunned after making anti-Semitic comments at a cafe in 2011. The ex-creative director at Christian Dior now returns to fashion, a field Kanye and Kim know a little something about.

Wiz Khalifa Dyes His Hair Purple
What better way to cure a break-up then to dye your hair? Shortly after the split with Amber Rose, Wiz decided to dye his dreadlocks a bright purple. Posting selfies on both IG and Twitter, Wiz spent hours Tuesday morning bleaching and dying his hair. He was later sighted that evening at the LA Clippers versus Warriors preseason home opener. We’re just gusesing, but if we just got divorced from Amber Rose we’d be listening to Purple Rain a lot, too.
DJ Mustard Creates A Cottage Industry
MUSTARD ON THE BEAT HO! DJ Mustard recently expresses his frustration on artists re-selling his beats. Apparently, it’s as easy as taking off that “Mustard on the beat ho” tag, and selling it to other artists. Hey, his beats are fire. Mustard signed to Roc Nation last year, and released his own studio album, 10 Summers, earlier this year.

Amber Rose Is Heartbroken
Looks like Amber Rose isn’t taking the break-up as well as we thought. She announced via Twitter, “I wake up every morning feeling like my best friend died.” Amongst the many rumors of Wiz cheating on her, she filed for divorce from the hubby last month. She reportedly will be receiving $1 million dollars from Wiz Khalifa, but is also requesting custody of their one and a half year old son Sebastian.
Kendrick Lamar Wrote “Never Catch Me” On The Spot
Kendrick Lamar recently collaborated with Flying Lotus on his track “Never Catch Me.” While discussing his latest album You’re Dead, he reveals that Kendrick came up with his verse right on the spot. Kendrick seems to continue to kill it in the rap game. Flying Lotus also revealed Mac Miller came through to his crib as well.

Makonnen Announces His Realest Song
Makkonen’s hit single “Tuesday” featuring Drake caught the attention of everybody’s ears. Signed to Drake’s label OVO, the ATLien singer/rapper/ad-lib guru still needs to prove he isn’t just another ATL oddity. He alerts listeners that his track “Down 4 So Long” is his realest song ever, and to stay tuned for a remix with some “international” legends. Everyone’s just aching for foreign things these days.

Bobby Shmurda Drops Next Single
After the success of “Hot Nigga,” Bobby Shmurda releases his second single entitled “Bobby Bitch.” Which, we can’t lie, sounds like the name of a Britney Spears freestyle. Still, he made a deal with his fans that once he reached 100,000 in Twitter followers, he would drop the track. Strategic move. This was reached in no time, but, with all the hype, will they give the NY sensation room to get his Rap legs?
