Puff Daddy Partners With Verizon For REVOLT Deal

We thought he told you that he won’t stop. On Monday, September 29 Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs struck a deal with Verizon FIOS to bring his REVOLT network to the cable and Internet service provider. That means REVOLT will now be available in 46 of the top 50 US markets on Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Centurylink and SuddenLink. Take that. Take that.

Nas Releases “Time Is Illmatic” Documentary

On October 3, Nas releases his Time Is Illmatic documentary which takes us back to Nas’ debut studio album Illmatic back in 1994. The film focuses on the rapper’s lyricism and the musical influences growing up in Queensbridge, New York. It will feature interviews from the producers of Illmatic, along with appearances from Pharrell Williams, Busta Rhymes, and Alicia Keys. It is now available on iTunes for $12.99.

Wu-Tang Clan Joins Warner Bros For “A Better Tomorrow”

The Wu-Tang Clan appearing at The Forum and popping up on KDAY 93.5 FM was a bit of a hint that something was afoot. And sure enough, on Friday, October 3, Wu-Tang Clan announced they were reuniting for what may be their final album, A Better Tomorrow. The Clan held court at their new home, Warner Bros. Records, where HipHopDX conducted an exclusive interview. The album is slated for a December 2 release, but in the meantime, Ghostface Killah had some fun with a clever play on Warner Bros. via his Twitter account.

Rick Ross Posts Pictures Of Meek Mill In Jail

Rick Ross showed love for his Maybach Music Group family by posting two photos of Meek Mill, who is still behind bars. Meek was arrested for violating his probation after being caught with drugs and guns back in 2009. In the first photo, Rozay hints that Meek will be released soon. It seems a lot of artists are on board with this #FreeMeekMill movement, including DJ Mustard who wore it on his shirt as he hit the stage at Los Angeles’ Made In America Festival.

Theophilus London Disses Spin Magazine

Theophilus London goes on a Twitter rant dissing Spin magazine regarding its coverage on comments he made about the status of Kanye West’s upcoming album. On September 30, he tweeted, “Kanye west album isn’t finish for all you Hypebeast bloggers out there writing for your magazine blogs.” This followed a previous Tweet stating the album was played three times for 20 people. Apparently, he was called a liar by Spin magazine, and was not pleased.

Rick Ross Announces Upcoming Album “Hood Billionaire”

Ricky Rozay took to Twitter to announce his new projectHood Billionaire, set to be released on Monday, November 24. While still the founder of MMG, the project is scheduled to be released by Def Jam Recordings. The picture depicts stacks and stacks of cash.
