According to a familiar cliché, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your favorite celebrities—including rappers—are doing less and less press, but luckily their thumbs and smartphones still work. Instagram has provided a way for them to document their lives and/or thoroughly embarrass themselves for our collective enjoyment. The beauty of it all is that you don’t even need to join Instagram, as most rappers are perfectly fine leaving their feeds open for public viewing. And if you’d rather avoid the IG life altogether, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s pictures and videos and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.
This week, Drake meets his dream girl, Angie Martinez works her first shift at Power 105, and Tyler, The Creator poses with his inhaler. Check the rest of the week’s top Instagram posts below.
A Kiss From Skylar Diggins, Drake’s Dream Comes True

Drake loves him some Skylar Diggins. So much that he wrote a poem titled “Can I Dig In?” for the WNBA player and read it while he hosted the 2014 ESPYs. When Skylar walked up to him on stage and asked how she could make the madness stop (Drake has posted pictures of her on his Instagram account multiple times), Drake replied, “I want a kiss.” He got his kiss. He also made his way into the friend zone. I’m sure Skylar’s boyfriend was probably in the audience giggling to himself.
Bobby Shmurda Sings To Epic Records
Bobby Shmurda’s name is new to many who don’t peruse the funny videos on Vine or constantly check on what’s hot on YouTube. The Brooklyn emcee has swayed a few hips since the beginning of summer with his now signature shimmy dubbed the “Shmoney Dance.” it could have been considered another fad, until Beyonce and Jay Z came along and co-signed 20-year-old Shmurda on their On The Run tour stop. It continued to go uphill since. Bobby recently announced that he signed to Epic Records and poses for a picture to prove it.

Angie Martinez Kicks Off Her First Show At Power 105
After resigning from her post of 20 years at Hot 97 in June, Angie “The Voice Of New York” Martinez announced that she would be making her way to the station’s biggest rival Power 105. It was an amicable split, as friendly as you could get if one of your company’s biggest icons was leaving you for something new. “Feels like the first day of school! Y~> going live in 15 mins on @power1051 Y” #Day1,” wrote Angie on Thursday, July 18. Guess who her first guest was? Jay Z. He called in before the show ended and she rushed him off the phone so she could end her shift. Boss.
Cam’ron & Mariah Carey’s Throwback Thursday Picture
AD LOADING...
Cam’ron claims he and Mariah Carey were always just friends but the best part about this Throwback Thursday picture is that he added the hashtag “#NickWasntThere” in the caption of the post. It’s true. These pictures were probably taken around the time they recorded “Boy (I Need You)” and that was all pre-Nick Cannon. According to one of the commenters, “Nick wasn’t even born yet.”
Tyler, The Creator & His Inhaler
For those of you who didn’t know, Tyler, The Creator suffers from asthma. During a visit to the doctor (to possibly check on his asthma judging from the inhaler he’s holding in right hand), he posed for a quick picture to show off his new shirt for other fellow asthmatics. The shirt has a drawing of a red inhaler with wings and the words “This Is My God” written underneath the object. “INHALER SHIRT WILL BE AT PEMBERTON. FOR ALL MY FELLOW HUMANS WITH BITCH NIGGA LUNGS YEAH,” wrote Tyler to promote his shirt. The post received over 97,500 likes. I wonder how many of them have asthma too.

Jay Z & Jay Electronica At Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival
The concertgoers at the 2014 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival were in for a surprise treat when Jay Z walked out and joined Jay Electronica on stage. It’s also a double treat whenever you catch Jay Z performing in his home borough of Brooklyn. Jay Z performed a few of his classic hits and both Jays performed their remix of “We Made It.” If you don’t remember what kind of commotion that song received when it first dropped, click here to remind yourself.

Keith Edward Elam, known to the music industry as Guru, would have been 53 on July 17. In honor of his birthday, DJ Premier shared an aged picture of him and fellow Gang Starr member Guru. The picture didn’t have a caption but fans of the fallen emcee knew the significance of the day and the picture. In April of 2010, the emcee passed away of cancer. Days following Guru’s death, Premier released a letter in which he wrote, ” I WILL CELEBRATE GURU’S LIFE… I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY.” Every year he’s been doing just that.
Blake Griffin Disguised As Drake In ESPYs Skit
Makeup at its finest. Los Angeles Clippers player Blake Griffin disguised himself as Drake to confuse Drake’s fans in the “Drake vs Blake” skit that was aired this week during the Drake-hosted ESPYs. In the skit, the rapper and the athlete find themselves in a rivalry when they disagree on a title for their upcoming imaginary action movie. Drake dresses up as Blake and defends his flopping in an interview to make him look bad and Blake dresses up as Drake to completely sabotage his rap persona. “Tbt to that one time I started from the bottom,” wrote Blake. He even perfected the Drake stance.

Meet Gunplay At Wingstop
What do you do when your boss owns 25 Wingstop locations? You host a meet and greet for your fans at one of the restaurants. That’s what you do. I can only imagine Rick Ross waives the location rental fee when one of his Maybach Music Group artists want to host a meet and greet. If you think about it, the aroma of the chicken parts will trigger the hunger of all of Gunplay’s fans and compel them to buy wings. It’s a win-win for everybody.
Nicki Minaj’s “Save Me” Used To Save Jordans

No idea if Nicki Minaj is a regular on Vine or just happened to stumble across Vine user King Bach‘s videos but when she realized one of her Pink Friday singles was used in a video about saving Jordans by any means possible, she had to repost it. “#video no yall did NOT turn “save me” into a ratchet Jordan commercial. Good nite sir! Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~(C)Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~,Y~, #bruh,” she wrote in the caption for the “Save Me” video. That’s the beauty of music. Everyone has their own interpretation.
