HipHopDX’s 2011 Release Preview

    1. What do mean? Every sub-genre of hip hop is represented up there. “All gay”? Why are you on this site? Show some respect for Q-Tip’s “The Last Zulu” too, fool.

  1. Jadakiss – Top 5, Dead or Alive

& the entire “Clan In The Front” section

    fuck ehhhhhhhverything else

    1. @ Angel..Niguh your face is whack..with that statement you made, it is clear to see that you have the worst taste in music..Wacka Flocka, Gucci Mane(with his gayass cone tattoo on his face),and Nicki Minaj probably on your playlist set on repeat.. ANGEL=EPIC FAIL

  2. Im Really Looking Forward to J.cole’s album, dude is mad nice and his buzz is too high not to drop the album this year. Big K.r.i.T. is another MC whose talents should be showcased more often, I just hope defjam doesnt screw him over like they been doing artists lately. On that note, Jeezy’s TM103 better pack a lotta power cuz the execs up there at defjam must not have had faith in “Lose my mind and “White Everything” cuz it just kept gettin pushed back. Now Game’s career is losin steam and fast in my opinion, The 2 mixtapes he put out were alright, Brake Lights were my fav, but now about to drop another mixtape with still no release date For RED album is sad. guess Interscope gotta better artists to focus on. Lasers and Greatest story never told are high upon my list cuz I’ve been waiting to hear those joints for over 3 years. As for Detox, I’ll believe that’s comin out when I go to target to pick it up. Fashawn,Jay Rock, and Pac Div are dope new artists reppin the west hard with quality music so there should be buzz around them aswell. Tha Carter 4 is gonna shut the game down as long as it’s not like the Carter 3, and dont front like it was all that cuz it wasnt,C2 was way better. Im anxious to see Drake follow up with a banger, cuz his debut was a lil disappointing. Jay electronica kinda confused me by signing with roc nation but as long as he stays true to himself and his music, I’ll buy his material. Other Than That, Real Hip Hop Heads will Be coppin: Big Sean,CrookedI,Raekwon,Ghostface,Talib Kweli, Jadakiss,Freddie Gibbs,common,Q-tip, Fabolous,PushaT, and Yelawolf. Im also Hoping To hear more music from Donnis, and Mickey Factz, cuz them dudes got bars for days. Peace

  5. Where’s Joell’s “Free Agent LP”? I know they had a release date mix up in December but has a new release date been set?

  6. Most looking forward to:
    Game – R.E.D album
    Dre – Detox
    Lupe – Lasers
    Fabolous – LW2
and J. Cole , Jay Electronica , Wiz khalifa and Jay Rock’s albums

  7. As a white dude – in case ya’ll cared, this is what I’m lookin’ out for in hip hop:

DJ Premier vs. Pete Rock (TBD)
-DJ Premier produced lots of good stuff in the past. Kinda interested in seeing what he’s comin’ up with now.

KRS-One & DJ Premier – Return of the Boom Bip (TBD)
-I listened to some of KRS-One’s work and I like Premo, so I’d check this out for kicks.

Lil Wayne – The Carter IV (Winter TBD)
-I know.. it’s Lil Wayne, but I’m still gonna watch out for his upcoming release. It’s gonna be big.

Talib Kweli – Gutter Rainbows (January 25)
-I like Talib. Def. checking it out.

Jay Electronica – Title TBA (TBD)
-Ever since I heard that “Ghost of Christopher Wallace” track, I wanna hear more from him. Hope his full-length debut is good.

Lupe Fiasco – Lasers (March 8)
-Lupe’s great. He has great production, great lyrics and wordplay. Hope this album is a success.

    Dr. Dre – Detox (TBD)
-If I had to choose just one album to buy this year, this would be it. Hopefully it stands the test of time and isn’t too bad.

  8. TO: Angel De Peña

    FAGGOT ASS MU-FUCKER!!!

You should be banned from this site for disrespecting the GODZ!! “Clan in the Front” section should be HOT this year. 4 real. I’ll be checking for them, new Talib, Nas, DJ Premier vs. Pete Rock, etc. Fuck Young $, and fuck you, you trick ass biiiiitchhhh!!!!

    SUUUU!!!

Wu Tang = “The Greatest Rap Group of All Time”

    One.

  9. where is scarface The habit?

Also, i’m interested to see if the rae/ghost renasaince has motivated method man to drop something good this year. right now his music doen’s support his legacy and honestly i think he has been riding redmans coattails for a minute

  10. so many of these are ‘TBD’ so what was the point of this besides finding out all the albums that supposed to drop?

  11. I suck off Angel everyday. I love cock in my butt. I bump Samwell’s What What In The Butt and shove my microphone as a dildo.

  12. NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz NYGz

  13. why does YM have their own category.
Excited about(Not in any particular order):
    Jay Elect’s
    Immortal Tech’s
    CunninLynguists
    and Slaughterhouse’s

  14. All these albums are going to be complete shit, especially the lupe and Wu ones. Go cop that The Deandre Way if you want some real hip hop

    Soulja Boy Tell’Em!

    1. thats just awful. You’re brainwashed by the garbage rap of today. bout “especially the lupe and Wu ones”. What the hell has soulja boy done to contribute to this genre aside from creating a corny dance and have ridiculously stupid lyrics. Hip hop died when soulja boy decided to rap!!!!

  15. Here’s an idea. When these albums get solid release days, copy and paste this into a real story. This is the problem with hip hop more than any other genre of music. They hype and hype the music, but most of it never comes out.

  16. you missed

METHOD MAN – THE CHRYSTAL METHOD

    INS – THE REBELLION

ELZHI got his album this year

    BEEZLEBUD ON TWITTER HOLLAH

It look’s like the underground is stepping it up more than ever this year

  19. Hmm, agree with most of the list except that i couldn’t care less about Tyga, Big Sean, 50 Cent and Mack Maine.

Also, i’m looking forward to Smoke DZA’s debut LP (The Hustler’s Catalog), Curren$y’s next projects (Muscle Car Chronicles/Pilot Talk III), Muddy Waters 2, Blackout 3 and Method Man’s upcoming album which should have been out for a while.

  20. What about that Nas album? I need that and that Lost Tapes part 2 to come up.

Fuck Gucci btw. It’s Nasty Nas time.

  21. Immortal Technique needs to release his album. Props that he’s been doin humanitarian shit but get to the studio!
They didn’t list the HRSM album, or D12’s mixatape and album, or Canubus’ Lyrical Law album, or Jedi Mind Trick’s album, or Jus Allah’s album, or Insane Clown Posse’s (i’m not a big fan of them so don’t bitch at me)

  22. Been Waitin For Common’s New One For Over 2 Years, Q-Tip, Consequence, and Of Course Game’s R.E.D. Album, Im not sure how good it will be but you never know.

    Big K.R.I.T.

  24. I know u hataz at DX gave ma man Don Gorrila some ‘fuck boy review’ but I’m still gon have it. Wut now, Starks & Donnie G…Wu-Block? Damn, I wish I could hold some of these 90’s cats’ ages back & tell ’em to do this of shit that should have happened a long time ago cause some of ’em fell to that “Pop-rap/Auto-tune/Whatever-the-fuck’s-up-with-Hip-Hop-nowadays”. Anyways…Kiss, AZ, Royce, Crooked I, G Rap, Free, Rae and yeah Pharoahe, J-Live, El & Tame, Kweli. Don’t see Nipsey on some debut shit, Gangsta Gibbs I’m defenitely keepin’ fingaz crossed dat Baby Faced Killa shit must a classic gangsta album, feel dat cat fro G.I.

    1. They didnt forget about TM3…its the 5th record mentioned.

Cool list tho, a little somthing for everyone…too bad the dates are missing for almost all of them

  25. Yo, you guys forgot about Madvillainy 2. The first was an instant classic, and the second will definitely be album of the year. Guaranteed.

  26. yo – did I just read “Artifacts” – like THOSE Artifacts? The Jersey cats right? El & Tame? WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW

    http://soundcloud.com/iamrobroy

    http://thelunchbreak.bandcamp.com/

  32. Some all time great along with up and coming lyricists on here, but that said, WHERE IS DIABOLIC/ELZHI/TONEDEFF/LOUIS LOGIC’S/NAS’s new albums? They all solo LPs coming out in the next 6-12 months and are 5 of the 15 ILLEST breating lyricists, PERIOD!

  33. I love how they have a fucking section just dedicated to Young Money Bullshit. Fuck can they just get hit by a bus and have the bus just miss Curren$y.

  34. Happy That We Will Have Real Hip-Hop Released This Year. Dr.Dre,Lupe,Snoop,Rick Ross,Slaughterhouse,Game,Diplomats Reunion,Talib,Royce,Jadakiss,J.Cole and Wiz, Fuck Young Homo/Crash dummy records.

    1. Wiz sucks. But yea, this year is going to be crazy. Hopefully drakes album isnt full of gay singing songs and weezys album might be decent for once. Cant wait for nas tho hes the best of all time! J cole also is my early pick for album of the year btw, followed by nas, Lupe, Talib, and hopefully big seaaaaan!

  35. 2011 is going to be the best year IN ALL OF HIPHOP. It may be a bold statement, and I have lived and listened to hiphop in the 80’s and 90’s, but this year is going to be amazing. Every possible good lyricist is going to be putting something out. From legends like Nas, AZ, Dr Dre, Q-Tip, Ghostface, Raekwon, Lupe Fiasco, and Talib Kweli, to rookies like J. Cole, Big KRIT, Saigon, Nipsey Hussle, nd Big Sean. For me, A Slaughterhouse/Wu Tang/Lupe album would make my year amazing, but this year has got every possible amazing hiphop artist there is. IMO Lasers is going to outbeat the others for album of the year, but I’m def going to be buying every album on this list and more, that is besides Drake/Lil Wayne/Rick Ross/Mack Maine.

  36. Am i going to far by saying why isnt Ja Rules album up there as Im one of the few fans but hey Dr.Dre is up there…….? Just Sayin DX

  37. Tech N9ne, Nas, Slaughterhouse, Immortal Technique… i can’t even list all the albums on here that i’m looking forward to this year… Jay Electronica’s gonna give J. Cole a real solid run for debut album of the year!

  38. This list is fucking wack no Chris Bridges yeah you bitches know what I’m talking about Ludacris always delivers Ludaversal is going to be brilliant.
