AR Paisley is an Indo-Canadian rapper who conveys raw vulnerability through his explosive verses. Raised on Paisley Boulevard in Mississauga, Ontario, he was immersed in music-filled family gatherings. Ludacris was an early influence during Paisley’s formative years, and in high school, rap battles revealed his freestyle talents. After a turbulent phase in grade 12, Paisley turned to creating music. He released singles including "Beat the Odds" and "Lavish" in 2018, aiming to produce enduring tracks. Screwface, his first mixtape, gained over five million streams, and Paisley followed it up with Timeless, which included the hit "Cost Ya.” The track racked up over a million streams and put him on the map in the Toronto music scene in 2019. In 2022, Paisley and Moose Wala collaborated on "Love Sick," which became Paisley’s most popular song on Spotify. Shortly after, he performed at Rolling Loud and opened for AP Dhillon's arena tour before embarking on his own solo tour in 2023. And in June, he was named hip-hop/rap artist of the year at Canadian Music Week.
