Without question, Joe Budden has had one of the most interesting careers in Hip Hop. He first came to prominence as an MC in 2003 with his classic top 40 single "Pump It Up,” receiving a Grammy Award nomination for the Best Male Rap Solo Performance at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards. He would go on to release several acclaimed albums and mixtapes along with forming Slaughterhouse with Crooked I, Royce da 5'9" and Joell Ortiz. After retiring from rapping, he found his greatest success as a media personality, having a much-publicized run as a co-host of Complex’s Everyday Struggle show. He currently hosts The Joe Budden Podcast, released twice a week on Patreon and YouTube, and State of the Culture on Revolt. Because of his reputation in the media, he’s been described as "the Howard Stern of hip-hop.”
He was born in Harlem, NY and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey.
“Pump It Up” was produced by Just Blaze.
He appeared during the third season of the show in 2013.
His first label deal was with Def Jam.
His last album Rage and the Machine was released in 2016.
Although the co-hosts have changed, the podcast still airs weekly.
