BIO

Raised in East Atlanta, JID had his first connection with music through his parents' collection of classic funk and soul LPs. Those sounds would shape him as an artist and influence his sound. He began making a name for himself after releasing several independent projects such as Route of Evil, Para Tu, and DiCaprio (2015). His debut studio album, The Never Story, was released in 2017 and was critically acclaimed. His second album, DiCaprio 2, was released in 2018, contained the singles "151 Rum" and "Off Deez" and also received critical acclaim. In September 2020, he reunited with the Spillage Village for the release of the collective's fourth project, the religion-themed concept album Spilligion. Without question, JID is one of the artists to pay attention to for years to come.
