BIO

The musical output of Grammy Award-nominated rapper Freddie Gibbs ranks him among some of the most productive and consistent MCs in the game today. Hailing from Gary, Indiana, he signed with Interscope Records in 2006 and recorded a debut album, but was dropped from the label after its management changed and his album went unreleased. But that setback was just a setup for Gibbs to chart his own course in the game. After leaving Jeezy's CTE in 2013, Gangsta Gibbs formed his own label, ESGN, and released his debut studio album of the same name in June 2013. Since then, he has gone on to release four solo studio albums, as well as four collaborative albums. He partnered with Madlib for the critically acclaimed Piñata (2014) and Bandana (2019). He also teamed up with fellow production legend The Alchemist for Fetti in 2018 and Alfredo in 2020, which received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album.
